Here are some numbers concerning Barcelona's La Liga form during the last two weeks, none of which we are making up.
Barca have scored 14 goals in their last two games, eight against Deportivo la Coruna and six against Sporting Gijon. They have not been scored against. Eight of those goals were scored by Luis Suarez, four in each game. Four of those goals were assisted by Luis Suarez, three against Deportivo and one against Sporting.
Barcelona Obliterate Sporting Gijon
After Saturday's thrashing of Sporting Gijon, we can come to this conclusion: Barcelona, and particularly Luis Suarez, are pissed off about being dumbed from the Champions league by Atletico Madrid and they are taking their anger out on La Liga.
The victory didn't do much for Barcelona's La liga chances, they remain tied on points with Atletico Madrid (ahead on goal difference) and one ahead of Real Madrid. One slip up could ruin everything for the Blaugrana.
Barcelona have at their disposal possibly the greatest attacking trio of all time in Messi, Suarez and Neymar, and all three scored Saturday. With these three in form, and Suarez in superlative form (his 53 goals this season are the most for Suarez in his professional club career) the rest of La Liga might as well just get into the fetal position and cry in the corner.
