Best Tournament Stats Answers
- United States with four, all by the women, followed by Hungary and Great Britain with three apiece.
- Marta of Brazil has scored 30 goals in major international tournaments, including 17 in the Women’s World Cup and 13 in the Olympics.
- Portugal and the Netherlands. Portugal won 1-0 in the men’s World Cup Round of 16 match that saw four red cards and 16 yellow cards.
- The 2015 Women’s World Cup Final, in which the U.S. beat Japan 5-2.
- The first Women’s World Cup was in 1991, followed by the first women’s soccer Olympic tournament in 1996.
- 199,854 is the unofficial record attendance for the Brazil vs. Uruguay match at the 1950 World Cup from the Maracanã in Rio de Janeiro, though FIFA lists the attendance at 173,850. For women, 90,185 watched the USA-China final at the 1999 Women’s World Cup.
