We will say this for Glenn Verbauwhede: he has no regard for his personal safety.
Actually, let's amend that. We will say this for Glenn Verbauwhede: he hasn't much regard for anything at all.
Verbauwhede plays keeper for Maritzburg United in the South African Premier Soccer League, and he plays it with the kind of reckless abandon and stupidity that only comes along once in a blue moon. Just watch.
Glenn Verbauwhede WTF Are You Doing
AND IT WORKED! How in the world did the ref call an actual foul there? Did he get hit in the head? Did Verbauwhede get hit in the head in order to even try that stunt? Did everyone get hit in the head? This is one of the more perplexing scenes we have seen on a soccer field.
Verbauwhede's like Rene Higuita's spiritual successor, but something got lost in translation and so we went from scorpion-kicking to belly-flopping. It's like the scorpion kick's dumb inbred cousin. What a time to be alive.
If Glenn is going to try stunts like that, he at least needs one of those Petr Cech-style helmets to protect his noggin from the feet that he is throwing himself at.
Actually, maybe it's too late for him.
