Sergio Rico horse riding accident
Rico was an unused substitute in the draw against RC Strasbourg that sealed a new title for PSG last Saturday. After the game, the player traveled to Spain, where tragedy ensued on Sunday.
According to reports, a cart of mules and a runaway horse impacted the horse he was riding, making him fall to the ground at 8:30 a.m. local time. Once there, the animal got nervous and kicked his head several times, causing him head trauma.
Eventually, Rico had to be airlifted in a helicopter to the Hospital Virgen del Rocío in Sevilla, where he is now trying to win the most crucial battle of his life.
PSG are providing all their support to Rico's family and canceled their title gala to show respect for his situation.
