Sevilla Down Dnipro, Earn Champions League Berth

There was a bit more at stake than normal in this year's Europa League final. Up for grabs was a place in next year's Champions League, given to the winner by virtue of both this year's Champions League finalists, Juventus and Barcelona, having already clinched their spots in next year's competition.

Dnipro and Sevilla gave us a match that lived up to the high stakes, with Sevilla winning a see-sawing contest by virtue of a Carlos Bacca brace.

Dnipro's Nikola Kalinic opened the scoring with a header in the seventh minute. Grzegorz Krychowiak equalised for Sevilla in the 28th minute and Bacca put Sevilla ahead three minutes later.

Ruslan Rotan equalised for Dnipro in the 44th minute with a curving free kick.

Bacca struck again in the 73rd minute to put Sevilla up for good.

Eight yellow cards were shown in the game: to Dnipro's Leo Matos, Jaba Kankava, Roman Bezus, Rotan and Kalinic, and to Sevilla's Daniel Carrico, Krychowiak and Bacca. Every player who scored also received a yellow card.

Sevilla have now won the most Europa Cups of any club, surpassing Liverpool, Juventus and Barcelona. This is their fourth win in nine years.

Sevilla will go to the Champions League next year, their first appearance in six years.
