Basics of Shielding
Shielding is an important skill when you have a defender on your back. Be physical and strong while you initial contact. Block the defender with your hips and your lefts while you fold your arms out wide. Keep a strong base and your feet moving while you shield the ball. Shield for just a moment and then pass, dribble or shoot depending on the situation. Stay focused on protecting the ball instead of touching it to keep your balance.
