Real Madrid doomed by missed penalty and comical own goal in shock defeat to Mallorca

Champions Real Madrid suffered a shock 1-0 loss at Mallorca in LaLiga on Sunday thanks to a bizarre own goal by defender Nacho early in the first half.

Nacho left his teammates stunned as he tried to clear a cross in the 13th minute and headed the ball high over his own goalkeeper and into the net.

Wrexham's potential FA Cup round of 16 opponent: Spurs

Non-league Wrexham could face a dream tie at home to eight-time winners Tottenham Hotspur in the FA Cup fifth round if they can get past Sheffield United in a replay, while Manchester City will travel to Championship (second-tier) side Bristol City.

Wrexham, owned by Hollywood stars Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney, played out a thrilling 3-3 draw with visiting Sheffield United on Sunday. The National League (fifth-tier) leaders were only denied a famous victory over the Championship side by a 95th-minute equalizer, forcing a replay scheduled for next month.

PSG's poor run continues after allowing Reims to score with last kick of the match

PARIS - PSG's mediocre run in Ligue 1 continued as they fell to a last-gasp 1-1 draw at home against Reims after being reduced to 10 men on Sunday.

Neymar scored early in the second half before Marco Verratti was shown a straight red card shortly after coming on as a substitute, with Folarin Balogun equalizing six minutes into stoppage time.

Minutes from spot in FA Cup last-16, Wrexham concede cruel equalizer in batshit crazy 3-3 draw

Wrexham's magical run in the FA Cup isn't over yet after the fifth-tier side almost stunned a Sheffield United team that's targeting a return to the Premier League before settling for a bonkers 3-3 draw on Sunday, forcing a fourth round replay at Bramall Lane.

With Manchester City and Arsenal playing their fixture Friday, this felt like the weekend's biggest cup match: It was a sellout crowd of over 10,000 at Wrexham's Racecourse Ground, Ryan Reynolds was in attendance and so was the BBC team with Alan Shearer and Gary Lineker.

Defending champs Liverpool knocked out of FA Cup with Brighton's wonder goal at 90+2'

BRIGHTON, England - Holders Liverpool were knocked out of the FA Cup after losing 2-1 at Brighton & Hove Albion in the fourth round on Sunday as Kaoru Mitoma struck the winning goal in stoppage time.

Harvey Elliott put Liverpool ahead, Lewis Dunk equalized before halftime and the score stayed at 1-1 until Mitoma found the net in the 92nd minute with a fine finish.

Ronaldo taunted with "Messi" chants after Al Nassr knocked out of Saudi Super Cup

Cristiano Ronaldo's Al Nassr were knocked of the Saudi Super Cup on Thursday after a 3-1 semifinal loss to Al Ittihad in Riyadh.

The 37-year-old Portugal international, five-times Ballon d'Or winner, had a couple of chances to score but was well shackled by the Al Ittihad defense for most of the match.

Anderson Talisca's goal for Al Nassr in the 67th minute was not enough to turn around the deficit from two first-half goals for Al Ittihad from Romarinho and Abderrazak Hamdallah. Muhannad Al-Shanqeeti added the third three minutes into stoppage time.

Joshua Kimmich saves Bayern in 90th minute with 30-yard rocket off the crossbar to earn 1-1 draw

The18 knows a Puskás goal contender when we saw one. Afterall, we did write about all 11 nominations from 2022 before they were actually nominated. It’s only three weeks into 2023 but we have our first goal of the year contender with this amazing Joshua Kimmich goal vs. Köln (Cologne).

Brighton smashes three past lackluster Liverpool and sit just outside of top five

BRIGHTON — Brighton & Hove Albion winger Solly March netted twice early in the second half and set up another goal in a 3-0 home win over a sluggish Liverpool on Saturday that lifts them above the Reds to seventh in the Premier League standings.

The victory was Brighton's first over Liverpool in the top flight and they deserved to take all three points once March helped them convert their dominance in possession into goals.

João Félix makes Chelsea debut, fails to score several chances and then gets straight red card

When Chelsea signed Portuguese talent João Félix from Atlético Madrid on loan I don’t think they imagined his debut would have gone as poorly as it did during Chelsea’s 2-1 defeat against Fulham on Wednesday.

Félix joined the Blues just 30 hours before he was given his first start. With Christian Pulisic, Raheem Sterling and a litany of injuries plaguing the Blues they really didn’t have a choice.

There were glimpses of talent from the 23-year-old as he recorded six shots and four on target. His finishing wasn’t up to snuff but at least he was creating chances.

Southampton stuns Man City with two golazos to dump defending Premier League champs out of EFL Cup

SOUTHAMPTON — Defending Premier League champions Manchester City crashed out of the League Cup after suffering a shock 2-0 defeat at struggling Southampton in the quarter-finals on Wednesday.

Southampton, bottom of the Premier League table, scored twice in the first half through Sekou Mara and Moussa Djenepo and City never seriously threatened to get back into the match.
