Welcome Back — Meet The Three Promoted Teams In The Premier League For 2022-23 Season

England’s Championship division is one of the most intense seasons in Europe. The 46 games played, just in the league itself, give players more opportunities to perform well but also for a team’s season to come crashing down. While there are more games, every game means just as much in the Championship, if not more, as the teams compete for the right to move up to the Premier League.

Safe Hands Under Stress: The Crucial Saves That Defined A Week Of Big Games

Despite all the hype, cup finals and semifinals tend to disappoint. Nerves take hold of the players, and the play on the pitch is dictated by a fear of losing rather than a desire to win. These matches become cagey affairs defined by midfield battles and long clearances, both caused by an aversion to conceding.

This week was different. The FA Cup final was an end-to-end affair, the notoriously-prudent EFL Championship playoff semifinals were both entertaining affairs and the Europa League final was an emotive footballing masterclass.

FA Condemns ‘Anti-Social Behavior’ Of Fans Invading Pitches

The English Football Association is investigating all incidents of fans invading the field and has condemned their "anti-social behaviour" as completely unacceptable.

The FA's statement comes after Everton fans invaded the pitch at Goodison Park following Dominic Calvert-Lewin's 85th-minute winner and at the final whistle of Thursday's 3-2 victory over Crystal Palace, which secured their spot in the Premier League next season.

Sheffield United Captain Bloodied By Fan After Forest Supporters Invade Pitch In Celebration

Nottinghamshire Police on Wednesday arrested a 31-year-old man on suspicion of assault after Sheffield United's Billy Sharp was attacked on the pitch at the end of the second leg of their Championship playoff semifinal at Nottingham Forest.

Forest supporters ran onto the pitch when the hosts sealed a 3-2 win on penalties, after the tie was locked 3-3 on aggregate. Television cameras showed an individual approach Blades striker Sharp on the sidelines and attack him.

La torpeza es una criatura salvaje, siempre acechando y lista para atacar cuando nadie lo espera. Quienes la conocen saben además que ama dar el zarpazo cuando la situación parece bajo control y el peligro es apenas otra inofensiva palabra en el diccionario.

EFL Championship At The Midpoint: Which Second-Tier Sides Are Promotion Contenders?

If the EFL Championship last year was a volcanic explosion, then this year is the spreading and settling of the lava flows.

No team this year will approach the 97 points earned by Norwich or the 91-point total of Watford last year. In fact, Brentford's 87-point, third-place finish from a year ago could be enough to win the league this year.

Maradona-Mania: Remembering When Sheffield United Almost Signed Argentina’s Golden Boy

The deal was as good as done. The year was 1978, and a 17-year-old Argentine phenom named Diego Maradona was set to become a Sheffield United player.

Harry Haslam, manager of the Second Division side, was on a scouting mission in Argentina and looking at a pair of players but couldn't come up with the requisite funds.

Premier League Players Will Continue To Kneel Next Season In Their Fight Against Racism

Players from all 20 Premier League clubs will continue to take the knee ahead of games this season to highlight their opposition to racism, the league said on Tuesday.

The Premier League said it "wholeheartedly supported" the decision, adding that players and match officials will continue to wear a No Room For Racism badge on their shirts.

Players and staff have been taking a knee prior to kickoff since the league returned to action in June last year to show their support for the Black Lives Matter movement.

Trent Alexander-Arnold Back In England Squad; Southgate Reveals Provisional Euro Group

LONDON — Liverpool defender Trent Alexander-Arnold earned a recall in a 33-man provisional England squad for Euro 2020 on Tuesday as manager Gareth Southgate played for time before whittling the numbers down.

The right-back was dropped in March for World Cup qualifiers but he made the cut in a squad that will be reduced to 26 players ahead of a June 1 UEFA deadline.
