ROTTERDAM — Croatia scored twice in extra time to beat the Netherlands 4-2 in their Nations League semifinal in Rotterdam on Wednesday and advance to Sunday’s decider.

Croatia will play either Italy or Spain, who face off in the second semifinal in Enschede on Thursday, for a first major title as they continued their form from last year’s World Cup in Qatar, where they finished third.

The USA U-20 men's squad secured a spot in the Round of 16 at the U-20 World Cup after a 3-0 victory vs. Fiji on Tuesday. While the USA will be happy with the three points, there was some seriously poor shooting on display.

Realistically Tuesday’s USA-Fiji score line should have been 7-0 or more, however the American players couldn’t find the back of the net for the longest time.

The breakthrough took 66 minutes as a Diego Luna goal put to bed the idea of a historic Fiji draw.

The United States U-20 team got their U-20 World Cup off to a dramatic and thrilling start on Saturday with a late winner vs. Ecuador in San Juan, Argentina.

It looked for certain that the game was going to finish goalless. Through 70 minutes there had only been one shot on target between the two teams, but then the USA started turning up the heat. Chance after chance wasn’t taken advantage of for the Americans as the clock ticked toward 90 minutes.
