The FA Cup will not have replays for the 2020-21 season to help ease fixture congestion caused by the COVID-19 crisis, England's Football Association (FA) said on Thursday.

Next season's competition is scheduled to begin on Sept. 1 — only a month after the 2020 final — with the showpiece match at Wembley set to take place on May 15, 2021.

Arsenal extended its record to 14 FA Cup titles with a 2-1 win over Chelsea, one overshadowed by a startling number of injuries to the men in Blue, namely Christian Pulisic.

Christian Pulisic had a great start to the FA Cup final against Arsenal on Saturday, scoring in the fifth minute. He nearly had an epic ending, albeit a painful one. Sadly, it all ended prematurely.

The 2019-20 Women's FA Cup has been given the green light to complete the last three rounds, with the final to be held at Wembley on Oct. 31, the Football Association said on Friday.

The tournament was suspended at the quarterfinal stage due to the COVID-19 outbreak in March and will now resume three weeks into the 2020-21 women's domestic season.

Chelsea beat Manchester United 3-1 on Sunday to book their place in an all-London FA Cup final, helped by two errors from United goalkeeper David de Gea and an own goal by Harry Maguire.

Chelsea, who will face city rivals Arsenal in the Aug. 1 showpiece, had lost to United three times this season but looked brighter from the start at Wembley and took control with goals either side of halftime from Olivier Giroud and Mason Mount.

Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta says their 2-0 victory against Manchester City in the FA Cup semifinal on Saturday could convince striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang to commit his future to the north London club.

Aubameyang, 31, scored in either half to fire Arsenal past holders City at an empty Wembley.

Aubameyang, the club's top scorer this season with 25 goals in all competitions, is out of contract at the end of next season and has not yet agreed to an extension.
