While playing away in the 4th round of the FA Cup, Rooney beat the Derby keeper with a curling ball from the left corner of the box. With a lackluster first half of the season, Rooney is a changed man in 2016. He has six goals for the new year and has been making under pressure manager, LVG very happy. With Rooney's curling effort, Manchester United would go on to beat Derby 3 - 1.

In front of a record 30,710 fans, Chelsea defeated Notts County 1-0 in the women's FA Cup final.

Given the crowd was a record for a women's FA Cup final, women's soccer seems to be enjoying an extended rise in popularity in England following the national team's extended run in the World Cup. Attendance records have also been set for women's soccer in the U.S this year.

This was the first women's FA Cup final to be held at Wembley Stadium.
