Latest FIFA rankings: USMNT anxiety reflected in fall from top 15

The final FIFA rankings before the 2022 World Cup were released Thursday, revealing a top five that's largely in line with what the odds makers have for the tournament in Qatar.

Brazil rightfully holds the top spot and is seen as the favorite after turning its qualifying campaign into a program on Joga TV, while the Seleção's eternal rivals, Argentina, sit third riding a 35-match unbeaten streak.

Well, now we know why Darwin Núñez has been so bad at Liverpool

Liverpool fans are not happy with Darwin Núñez. The club paid a hefty $82 million to Benfica for the Uruguayan in an attempt to strengthen its front line after Sadio Mané's exit, while also providing talk for pundits about how he would compete with Erling Haaland for the Golden Boot. However, the striker hasn't hit it off and is starting to be called a bust.

Núñez has played a mere 340 minutes across all competitions and scored two goals (one in the PL and one in the Community Shield) — far from the 34 he bagged with Benfica last campaign.

Why such a difference?

Erling Haaland says his chemistry with Kevin De Bruyne is "insane"

Erling Haaland took his tally to 14 Premier League goals with a hat-trick in Sunday's 6-3 drubbing of Manchester United and the Manchester City striker said the chemistry he had forged with Kevin De Bruyne has been a big factor in his success.

Belgian De Bruyne has assisted on four of Haaland's league goals, laying on two in Sunday's derby win.

Phil Foden and unstoppable Erling Haaland rout Manchester United with hat tricks

MANCHESTER — Erling Haaland and Phil Foden scored hat-tricks to fire champions Manchester City to a rampant 6-3 thrashing of local rivals Manchester United in the Premier League on Sunday.

City's football was slick, incisive and ruthless in its execution as Haaland claimed his third hat-trick in eight league games and Foden netted his first Premier League treble on a humbling afternoon for United.

Leandro Trossard stuns Anfield with hat trick — Brighton & Liverpool draw 3-3 in amazing game

LIVERPOOL — A hat trick from Belgian forward Leandro Trossard earned Brighton & Hove Albion a worthy point in an exhilarating 3-3 draw with Premier League title-chasing Liverpool on Saturday.

Brighton coach Roberto De Zerbi's first game in charge could not have got off to a better start as two well-taken goals from Trossard gave the visitors a 2-0 lead by the 17 minute mark at a stunned Anfield.

Christian Pulisic assists sensational game-winning goal in 90th minute after subbed on in the 84th

Christian Pulisic made a great impression on new Chelsea manager Graham Potter after assisting the game-winning goal of the Blues’ 2-1 victory vs. Crystal Palace on Saturday. The game was Potter’s first Premier League game in charge for Chelsea.

Pulisic sat on the bench for 84 minutes of the match and was brought on late in the game with the score tied 1-1. He only needed six minutes to make an impact as he assisted fellow substitute Conor Gallagher for the 90th minute game-winner.
