A new movie about Brazilian soccer great Pelé is the latest in a series of documentaries in what has been described as a golden age of sports film.

Documentaries about American basketball player Michael Jordan, Argentine footballer Diego Maradona and Brazilian Formula One driver Ayrton Senna have transfixed fans with their insider look at the performance and personality of the biggest global sports stars.

USWNT and Orlando Pride power couple Ashlyn Harris and Ali Krieger have adopted a beautiful baby girl. On February 12, Sloane Phillips was born and will grow up in a loving household with two superstars and 20-plus aunties to help raise her. Ali Krieger and Ashlyn Harris have gone through the adoption process while also competing at the highest level of play. They were fully supported through the entire journey by their teammates, coaching staff and family and they will step away from the game for a bit while they take care of the new addition to their family. 

Cádiz and Athletic Bilbao took center stage on Monday night in LaLiga’s only match of the day. Cádiz hadn’t won a match since Jan. 10 to drift just three points above the relegation zone, but the club looked to drum up interest for tonight’s game at the Carranza with a promotional video that’ll leave you feeling brainless.

I’ve been playing FIFA video games regularly for over 25 years. I’m not sure I’ll ever play again.

This year, for the first time, I focused my FIFA playing on the FIFA Ultimate Team mode. I’ve always loved CCGs and after a few years of dabbling in FUT I finally jumped in and became hooked. 

CBS All Access became a big player in the world of soccer last year. The NWSL, Champions League, Europa League and Women’s Champions League gave the streaming service real legitimacy, something every U.S. soccer fan had to seriously consider subscribing to. Less than a year later all of those competitions are leaving CBS All Access for the dumbest of reasons.

I’ll be honest: I actually get excited for the Super Bowl. I couldn’t care less about who is playing or even who wins; professional American football is for a different type of human. But give me an excuse to eat nachos, drink beer and ironically celebrate the grotesque capitalist society we’ve created and I’m all in. So when it comes to sports on that one special Sunday, it’s soccer or nothing. Fortunately, there’s more than enough soccer on Super Bowl Sunday to fill my appetite.
