Adidas

Is this the best looking World Cup ball of all time?

Adidas has unveiled its ball to be used at this year’s Women’s World Cup, and my goodness, it's a winner. Based on the template from last year’s Al Rihla, this year’s edition is called OCEAUNZ and is technically identical to its predecessor.

adidas X Jamaica partnership quickly leads to the most anticipated jersey of 2023

Maybe you missed it since the news appeared on New Year's Day, but the Jamaica Football Federation recently announced a partnership with adidas to "not only celebrate Jamaican football but also Jamaican style and culture."

We're expecting jersey, training wear and lifestyle clothing drops soon with the new kits reportedly coming by the end of January. It's a busy summer for Jamaica with the Reggae Girlz competing in their second straight FIFA Women's World Cup and the Reggae Boyz attempting to claim the Concacaf Gold Cup for the first time.

New year, new adidas Predator Precision boots

Although adidas won the sportswear World Cup with Argentina and Lionel Messi lifting the trophy, the company isn't taking any time off. On Monday, adidas launched the first strike of the 2023 boot war by dropping the Predator Precision Archive.

Throwing it back to the iconic Precision cleats of 2000, the latest releases have an all-new color way (white, black and "Team Shock Pink") and the classic fold-over tongue secured with Velcro. The Three Stripes are looking classy.

Everything we know about the 2023 MLS jerseys so far

Beginning with opening weekend on Saturday, Feb. 25, the 2023 MLS season is suddenly less than two months away and preseason is right around the corner. We've already had key offseason events like St. Louis City's Expansion Draft and the SuperDraft, but what truly gets the pulse racing is the annual reveal of the latest 2023 MLS jerseys.

As is tradition, every club retains the kit it debuted in 2022 but the 2021 releases are replaced, so each team either gets a new home or away shirt in 2023. Here's everything we know so far about the new threads.

TIL: The World Cup soccer ball needs to be charged before games

Technology has taken the reins in the soccer world. The VAR system is the clearest example of the takeover, but it's not the only one. Al Rihla, the soccer ball created by adidas for the 2022 World Cup, incorporates chips and sensors that are revolutionizing the game.

And it also brings a new reality: soccer balls that need to be plugged in before a game.

Adidas releases the ‘Messiverse’ in new short-film

It's World Cup commercial season, and we're here for it.

After Nike released the "Footballverse," a commercial that had the memorable versions of players like Ronaldo Nazário, Ronaldinho and Cristiano Ronaldo face off against eachother, adidas has followed by releasing a love letter short-film to Argentine fans around the world.

From Canada to the top: Here is our World Cup jersey ranking

With all the World Cup jerseys finally out in the wild, it's time to create a ranking with the best and worst-dressed teams in the tournament.

In general terms, there is consensus on naming adidas as the brand with the best designs for the event, while Nike and Puma didn't seem to have tuned in with the fans' wishes.

I'll be honest, some collections have grown on me since their launching – France and England, to name two – but others are not moving the needle.

Sorry, USMNT.
