Paul Pogba Talks About Dabbing, Zlatan Impersonations And His Love Of Life With Thierry Henry
In a rambling interview that managed to steer clear of the cliche while touching on everything from Paul Pogba’s relationship with Alex Ferguson to brilliant impersonations of Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Patrice Evra, Thierry Henry and Pogba shared a throughly enjoyable interview on Sky Sports.
Some of the highlights of the eight-minute clip include Pogba revealing that he’ll debut a new celebration this season (“New team, new things.”) and that he had a Thierry Henry poster in his room growing up.
The funniest bit is almost certainly Pogba’s spot on impersonation of his new teammate Zlatan Ibrahimovic.
“He loves to joke,” says Pogba about Ibra. “Every time I see him, he has to say something about my shoes, about my hair. And the way he talks too, you know? ‘Zlatan Ibrahimovic. I am Zlatan.’”
Henry also asks some more serious questions. Mainly, Pogba’s return to Manchester, what would constitute a good season for him and his relationship with Alex Ferguson. Pogba has this to say on Ferguson:
“Big respect. The greatest manager in football. I don’t have any problems with him.”
Pogba also reveals that it’s his dream to one day win the Ballon d’Or and that he too, like analysts everywhere, struggles to define his own game.
Finally, Pogba shows his humility and meditative side by acknowledging how lucky he his to be playing football for his career. The fact that he’s the most expensive footballer on the planet doesn’t seem to register or affect his determination to enjoy himself:
“The real Pogba is the one you see every time…I just love life, you know? We are lucky to play football.”
