Record Performance Against Bayern Munich
The Swiss goalkeeper has been one of the most entertaining goalkeepers in recent years, and he just put up perhaps the craziest performance we’ve ever seen.
Sommer made a never before recorded 19 saves against Bayern Munich in Saturday’s 1-1 Bundesliga draw.

Yann Sommer made saves in Gladbach's 1-1 draw with Bayern Munich, a record in any match in Europe's top 5 leagues since we started receiving Opta data in 2009 #FCBBMG— WhoScored.com (@WhoScored) August 27, 2022
Bayern shot 20 times and only got one past Borussia Mönchengladbach’s keeper.
That’s Yann Sommer for you.
Manchester United’s Next Goalkeeper?
Like we said, it’s no surprise that Sommer keeps showing out with performances like these. He’s been a top player for Mönchengladbach and for Switzerland.

He’s been so good that top clubs like Manchester United have become interested in the 33-year-old Swiss.

The goalkeeping position has been one of the biggest problems at Old Trafford and not only would they solve that issue with the signing of Sommer, but they would also get their hands on a player that would single-handedly win them games.

He’s a bad man.
And now, although he’s in his thirties, if the price is right, United would definitely benefit from a having a keeper of his caliber.
