The last day of Champions League Round of 16 featured four world-renowned teams. Arsenal traveled to FC Barcelona hoping to make up a 2-0 aggregate deficit, while Bayern Munich and Juventus were tied at two.
Barcelona's Neymar got the scoring going by slotting it home past Arsenal keeper, Petr Cech in the 18th minute making the aggregate score 3-0. Mohamed Elneny added one back for Arsenal in the 51st, however Messi and Suarez sealed the victory with goals in the 88th and the 65th minute,respectively. Barcelona would go on to win 5-1 on aggregate and advanced to the quarterfinals.
Bayern Munich and Juventus was much more exciting as Juventus took a quick 2-0 lead on goals from Paul Pogba and Juan Cuadrado. Pogba capitalized off a Manuel Neuer mistake in the fifth minute and Cuadrado scored in the 28th taking a 4-2 aggregate lead. Give credit to Bayern for battling back as Robert Lewandowski and Thomas Muller leveled the game with goals in the 73rd and the 91st minute, respectively.
With the aggregate tied at four, extra time was needed as Bayern took advantage of Juventus's tired legs and scored in the 108th and 110th minutes. Thiago Alcantara gave Bayern the first lead of the evening, while Kingsley Coman sealed the victory with a curling effort.
Bayern Munich and FC Barcelona advance to the quarterfinals with the draw being held this Friday, March 18th.
