Memphis Depay Sends Inter Miami's Damion Lowe To The Bahamas In Barça's 6-0 Stroll

Barcelona put on a show Tuesday night against an obliging Inter Miami at DRV PNK Stadium in Fort Lauderdale with Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, Raphinha, Ansu Fati, Gavi, Memphis Depay and Ousmane Dembélé scoring in a 6-0 result, although the real story was surely Romeo Beckham's senior debut for dad's team.

New Barça signing Robert Lewandowski worked out the pitch prematch, but the club's $50 million transfer from Bayern Munich had a spot in the stands alongside Gerard Piqué, Ferran Torres and Chad Ochocinco Johnson.

Barça's opening goal in the 19th minute was the first contribution from $59.4 million Leeds United signing Raphinha. The Brazilian took possession cutting inside, received a beautifully back-heeled return pass from Pedri and pushed it out wide to Aubameyang.

Aubameyang left keeper Nick Marsman flailing with a delicate dink.

Six minutes later, Alejandro Balde picked out Raphinha at the back post and the 25-year-old beat Marsman (the backup to Drake Callender) with a left-footed volley.

Fati made it 3-0 in the 41st by cracking a half-volley off a delicious through ball from that man Raphinha.

Inter Miami's threat the other way usually started with DeAndre Yedlin driving forward and ended with Gonzalo Higuaín in an offside position. The home team entered halftime with one shot, zero on target and 37% possession.

The second half saw wholesale changes, including the introductions of Frenkie de Jong, Gavi, Memphis Depay, Ousmane Dembélé, Sergio Busquets and Jordi Alba. Phil Neville countered by bringing on his son Harvey Neville.

Barça's fourth arrived in the 55th with Gavi running through Memphis' low corner kick unmarked and smashing it beyond Marsman.

The final 30 minutes turned into an exhibition with De Jong quarterbacking, Busquets stringing together step-overs and Memphis sending Damion Lowe to the Bahamas before striking.

It was Dembélé's turn in the 70th.

With four minutes left, they brought Beckham out. The 19-year-old leads MLS Next Pro with seven assists and scored his first goal on July 10, so this was his reward.

This was a much improved performance from Barcelona compared to last week's 1-1 draw with Spanish fourth-tier side UE Olot, but based on Miami's performance tonight, the Herons would be playing in the regional divisions of Spain.
