The tragic romance of our time took another compelling twist this past weekend as Shakira potentially found her rebound from last year's dramatic split with Gerard Piqué. Throughout Sunday's Miami Grand Prix, Shakira was spotted hanging out with Tom Cruise. Gossip rags are now saying the Last Samurai is going to pursue her like a scene out of Mission: Impossible; he's already sent flowers.

These tiny shin guards are ‘the smallest pads on the market’

Here at The18, we don't condone small shin guards (the tibia is more exposed than Leeds United's backline), but we certainly enjoy the roguish wild cards who risk it all in the name of comfort.

Pitch invader disrupts Finnish Cup match with wheelie bad behavior

Some fans really need to get a grip! A recent Finnish Cup match between Jalkaranta Palloseura and KJP had to pump the breaks after one supporter (actually one of the player's relatives) caused a chain reaction by taking things to a whole different gear.

It's a classic case of small child on a push bike charging around the box like Teemu Pukki.

When you got to go you got to go — Stuttgart player leaves game in search of a toilet

What happens when professional athletes need to go? It’s a rare occurrence, but sometimes a player simply can’t hold it anymore and must go.

This was the case for Stuttgart’s Waldemar Anton on Wednesday during the DFB-Pokal semifinal against Eintracht Frankfurt. In the 63rd minute the defender went down without any contact and made the signal to the coaching staff that he needed to be substituted off.

Rather than heading to the bench, Anton made a beeline for the tunnel.

Secret agent José Mourinho wears wire to protect himself against refs during Roma match

AS Roma manager José Mourinho stole a move straight out of the pages of a spy novel when he wore a wire on the touchline during his team's 1-1 draw at Monza in Serie A on Wednesday, which he said was to protect himself from the match officials.

Mourinho, who is no stranger to clashes with referees, tore into Daniele Chiffi after the game, describing the 38-year-old official as "the worst I've ever encountered."

"Messi will leave Paris Saint-Germain at the end of the season. There are no doubts about that anymore," Romano tweeted. "Behind the scenes, it's now understood that Leo's father Jorge communicated the decision to PSG already one month ago."

An open letter to Chelsea fans: Are you guys OK?

Dearest Chelsea fandom,

I hope this letter finds you well, however I seriously doubt it. I trust that you witnessed yet another pathetic performance from your club on Tuesday as the once mighty Blues lost their sixth game in-a-row.

There's a man with a chainsaw in the stadium and we're not in Portland

Things got a little out of hand during a recent CAF Champions League quarterfinal between Espérance and JS Kabylie in Tunisia. The match experienced a 40-minute delay to the second half after fans clashed with security forces around the stadium, and firefighters were required to put out several small fires in the stands.

Also, a storage room was looted and some of the equipment was later seen being used in the riots, including a chainsaw. According to Reuters, the chainsaw-wielding man has since been arrested.

Leeds players apologize after video of squad ignoring a child goes viral

Leeds United players apologized to their fans on Monday after their 4-1 loss at Bournemouth and after a video of the squad ignoring a young fan at the hotel went viral.

The defeat left Leeds a point above the relegation zone as the club stretched their winless run to five matches.

"The performance was not good enough. There is no other way to look at it and the only way to respond is on the pitch," the players said in a statement. "Leeds fans travel up and down the country in huge numbers and deserve more than this."
