The honor for scoring the best goal of the year in the world in 2023, the Puskás award, has a new heavyweight contender. 

During a U-20 Copa do Brasil game between Internacional and Gremio there was a goal that brought the house down and spread like wildfire on the internet.

With Gremio leading 1-0 late in the game, Internacional’s Lucca attempted one of the most audacious efforts imaginable. After chipping the ball over a defender, he pulled off an incredible scissor kick.

Australia advanced to the semifinals of the Women’s World Cup on Saturday after a dramatic penalty shootout victory vs. France that featured 20 kicks. This was the longest shootout in women’s or men’s World Cup history.

Lionel Messi’s game-tying free kick vs. FC Dallas on Sunday in the Leagues Cup was an insane moment. A new video angle prior to the kick shows that Messi was a little sneaky when he was setting up to take the shot.

While the referee had his back turned the Argentine ever so subtly moved the ball closer to the middle of the field to get a better angle for the shot.

The BBC has issued an apology after one of the network's reporters asked Morocco’s captain Ghizlane Chebbak a ridiculous question during a Women’s World Cup press conference.

Prior to Morocco’s 6-0 defeat to Germany on Monday, Chebbak answered questions from the media. The second to last question left just about everyone in the room speechless.
