Berhalter Says Mexico's Fear Factor Is Gone And Calls Out MLS Media For Negativity

U.S. Soccer released the eighth (and final?) episode of the Gregg Berhalter Podcast (hosted by former FC Dallas midfielder Bobby Warshaw) on Tuesday. The USMNT manager spent a lot of time discussing the intense final window of qualification, reflecting on "The Ocho" as a whole and how all that shapes his decision making going toward the World Cup.

Football For The People: Five U.S. Cities That Deserve To Host 2026 World Cup Matches

For the first time since 1994, the World Cup is back in North America. Sixteen cities — 11 in the United States, three in Mexico and two in Canada — will be holding matches during the 2026 FIFA World Cup.

The host sites for 2026 World Cup games will be finalized in the first half of 2022, and, to no one's surprise, the games being contested in the United States will be played at rather large football stadiums.

Guardiola Uses Post-Match Interview To Congratulate USMNT On World Cup Qualification

After Sunday's barnstorming 2-2 draw between Manchester City and Liverpool at the Etihad, it was clear that managers Pep Guardiola and Jürgen Klopp, as disciples of attacking football, were spiritually lifted by what they'd seen out on the pitch.

USMNT Star Gio Reyna Out For The Season At Borussia Dortmund

Borussia Dortmund midfielder Giovanni Reyna has been ruled out for the rest of the season after sustaining a muscle and tendon injury, the Bundesliga club said on Sunday.

The American international played only two minutes against Stuttgart in the league on Friday before being substituted as Dortmund went on to win 2-0 thanks to a double from his replacement Julian Brandt.

Y’all, I’m Crying. Gio Reyna Is Hurt Again

We apologize in advance for completely ruining your weekend vibes. Young American Gio Reyna is hurt, again. The 19-year-old Borussia Dortmund starlet pulled up injured less than two minutes into his start against Stuttgart on Friday, just weeks after returning from a five-month stint on the sidelines with another injury.

Reyna left the pitch in tears after feeling something go in his right hamstring on his first touch of the night while playing a give-and-go with Thorgan Hazard. The USMNTer was able to walk off under his own power — visibly limping — but was clearly distraught.

Seattle Nears CCL Final After Jordan Morris Goes Off Against NYCFC In First Leg

Jordan Morris set up one first-half goal and scored another, helping the Seattle Sounders beat visiting New York City FC 3-1 on Friday in the first leg of a CONCACAF Champions League semifinal series.

The second leg of the total-goal series is scheduled for April 13 in Harrison, N.J.

Morris' assist produced the opening goal by Albert Rusnák in the 16th minute.

Good For The Game? The Uneven Relationship Between Major League Soccer And The USL

The original purpose of this piece was to find players who began their careers in American soccer in the lower league and worked their way up to Major League Soccer — not players who went out on loan, rather athletes who signed for a USL or NPSL club, impressed at that level, and drew the attention of an MLS side.

But after a thorough examination of numerous MLS rosters, I found that this type of career path is almost nonexistent; such upward mobility is nearly impossible in American soccer.

Concacaf Nations League Draw Means USA Forced To Prep For World Cup Vs. El Salvador And Grenada

I have a serious bone to pick with the Concacaf Nations League after Monday’s draw revealed the two nations in the USMNT’s group: El Salvador and Grenada.

The issue isn’t the league itself — I think it creates great opportunities for the lower teams in Concacaf — my problem is that in one of the final two international breaks before the World Cup the USMNT will be forced to play against El Salvador and Grenada.

USMNT's Cameron Carter-Vickers Scores Winner For Celtic Against Old Firm Rival Rangers

Cameron Carter-Vickers hasn't appeared for the USMNT since June 2019, when the center back was given 18 minutes in Gregg Berhalter's first defeat in charge — an entirely forgettable 1-0 friendly loss to Jamaica in Washington D.C.
