MILAN - Shares in Juventus tumbled some 10% on Monday after Italian soccer authorities docked the club 15 points for its transfer dealings, in a blow to its reputation and short-term sporting prospects.

Juventus, who have won the Italian league more times than any other club, are now 9th in the Serie A standings and face an uphill struggle to qualify for lucrative European competition.

Juventus drew 3-3 with Atalanta on Sunday night in their home city of Turin in their first game since the punishment was announced late on Friday.

LEEDS, England - Leeds United and Brentford played out a 0-0 draw in the Premier League at Elland Road on Sunday leaving the hosts a point above the relegation zone following a frustrating afternoon.

On Thursday, terrible news struck the world of sports as Charlotte FC defender, Anton Walkes, tragically passed away at the age of 25.

Alex Morgan was pulled from the starting XI prior to the USWNT’s friendly vs. New Zealand on Friday after experiencing tightness in her lower leg. Her injury meant that the captain’s armband was transferred to Rose Lavelle. 

The 27-year-old put in quite the captain’s performance during the USWNT’s 5-0 victory vs. New Zealand scoring two goals, providing one assist and bossing the midfield.

A statement from Charlotte Football Club has confirmed the tragic death of 25-year-old defender Anton Walkes. Walkes was injured Wednesday after two boats collided near the Miami Marine Stadium, and after being found unconscious and receiving CPR, he was hospitalized in critical condition.

Walkes passed away early Thursday morning.
