These Are The Americans Playing In The Bundesliga You’ll Want To Keep An Eye On In 2022

Ricardo Pepi’s transfer to Augsburg in the winter transfer window means 44 percent of teams in the Bundesliga have an American in the ranks. How many Americans play in the Bundesliga those who don’t feel like doing math might ask?

Here’s the list of eight American players expected to get minutes in Germany’s top flight in 2022.

Why U.S. Soccer Couldn’t Get Half-Decent Teams For 2022 SheBelieves Cup

Despite pandemics and lawsuits, one constant for the U.S. women’s national team lately has been the SheBelieves Cup. Every year since 2016, the USWNT has hosted some of the best teams in the world in a four-team competition aimed at inspiring young women. Unfortunately, the 2022 SheBelieves Cup looks like it’ll be the least inspiring yet.

Lorenzo Insigne Is About To Become The 11th Highest Paid Team In MLS

Back on Dec. 28, news broke that Napoli captain and Italian international Lorenzo Insigne was seriously considering joining Toronto FC in the summer following the completion of the 2021-22 European season. The rumor had a lot of clout, especially the bit about Toronto making him Major League Soccer's highest-ever paid player.

10 Years Ago, Alex Morgan Was The Most Dominant Force International Soccer Has Ever Seen

Perhaps more so than any other type of soccer, international football lends itself to the hero forward who saves the day with a miraculous goal. Whether it’s Pelé dominating the men’s World Cup, Michelle Akers scoring at will at the Women’s World Cup, Landon Donovan’s unforgettable finish against Algeria or Carli Lloyd’s midfield bomb in 2015, there’s something about the international game that loves a star goal scorer.

Scotland's Rangers FC reportedly are close to completing a loan deal for New York City FC standout James Sands.

According to The Athletic, it would be an 18-month loan with a purchase option for the 21-year-old defensive midfielder.

It's Officially Official: Ricardo Pepi Moves To Bundesliga In Record-Breaking Deal

FC Dallas completed the transfer of striker Ricardo Pepi to FC Augsburg of the German Bundesliga on Monday.

Dallas received a reported $20 million fee, a club record that also makes the 18-year-old Pepi the most expensive outgoing homegrown player in MLS history.

Pepi, the 2021 MLS Young Player of the Year, signed a five-and-a-half-year contract at Augsburg that includes a club option to extend the deal until the summer of 2027.

Former USMNT Defender Steve Cherundolo Is Going To Be LAFC's Next Manager

LAFC will introduce former United States men's national team defender Steve Cherundolo as their next manager on Monday, ESPN reported.

Cherundolo, 42, replaces Bob Bradley, who left the team after his contract expired at the end of the 2021 season. Bradley was later named the head coach at Toronto FC.

Cherundolo managed the Las Vegas Lights, LAFC's USL Championship affiliate, last season.

Pepi And Dike Realize European Dreams In Quest To Become USMNT's Starting Striker

On Saturday, West Bromwich Albion and Orlando City confirmed that 21-year-old striker Daryl Dike was headed to the Championship side on a four-and-a-half-year deal for a transfer fee of $9.5 million.

Dike again joins forces with French manager Valérien Ismaël, who was Barnsley's boss last campaign when Dike scored nine goals in 19 second division appearances while on loan. Orlando is also in line to receive performance-based bonuses and 20% of any future sale.

Chelsea Gets Wild Comeback Draw Vs. Liverpool Thanks To Kovačić Wonder Goal And Pulisic Strike

Liverpool raced to a 2-0 lead after 26 minutes at Stamford Bridge on Sunday, only to watch Mateo Kovačić and Christian Pulisic bring Chelsea level before halftime in a match that finished 2-2 and gave Manchester City a 10-point lead at the top of the Premier League.

Such has been City's relentless pace that both Chelsea and Liverpool entered knowing that a draw was as good as a defeat, and the Reds had to navigate the match without Jürgen Klopp on the sideline because of COIVD-19.

USMNT 2021 Lookback — The Rebirth Of Having Hope In The Men’s National Team

In 2021 and soon-to-be 2022, it’s officially cool to believe in the USMNT again.

The two years after the disaster in Couva against Trinidad and Tobago was a gray, murky time period with nothing to show for it. In 2019 the Americans lost both games against foe Mexico, including the Gold Cup final. Several months later Canada defeated the U.S. in Concacaf Nations League play and it felt like everything was falling apart for this team.
