Shocking

Neymar receives RED CARD for DIVING — Kylian Mbappé saves PSG with 96th minute game-winning penalty

Brazil and Paris Saint-Germain superstar Neymar has many haters for one simple reason: he dives a lot. Those haters had their prayers answered on Wednesday during PSG’s 2-1 victory vs. Strasbourg when Neymar was red carded for diving.

OK, so technically it was a second yellow card, but either way the referee sent Neymar off for simulation.

His two yellow card offenses happened in less than two minutes during the second half. The first yellow card in the 61st minute was for him accidentally catching an opponent’s face with his hand. Then 85 seconds later Neymar did this.

One of the worst open-goal misses of the year reminds us of awful Cristiano Ronaldo howler at Manchester United

Indonesia routed Brunei 7-0 at the 2022 AFF Championship, a traditional tournament among South Asian nations. After the game, players from Tim Garuda celebrated the victory, except for crestfallen defender Hansamu Yama, who experienced an embarrassing moment during the game.

Yama could have added another goal for Indonesia on the scoreboard but ended up submitting a strong entry for the howler of the year award, missing a shot so close to the goal line that it's almost impossible to understand how he was able to miss the chance.

Emiliano Martínez sure is the most hated soccer player right now

Sergio Ramos, Pepe, Diego Costa and Luis Suárez have all been, at some point in their careers, the most hated soccer player in the world. And after the 2022 World Cup, we may agree that such an infamous honor now belongs to Argentina's goalkeeper Emiliano Martínez.

What a cake!

There's a chance that Martínez is a wonderful person around his family and friends, but on soccer player duties, there is no doubt that he's a massive prick.

At least among those who are not Argentines.

I genuinely don’t understand the visceral hatred toward the 2023 Women’s World Cup on social media

The 2023 Women’s World Cup in Australia and New Zealand is only seven months away from kicking off. For the first time in history the tournament is expanding to 32 teams meaning the format will be identical to the men’s most recent edition.

Exciting, right? Not if you checked the comment sections and a plethora of posts on social media.

There’s a huge amount of despise and hatred toward the women’s game on platforms like TikTok and Instagram. Here’s the thing I don’t understand: why?

Messi and four other Argentina stars narrowly escape being knocked off a bus by a street cable

Argentina is in a big massive party state right now. Government officials declared a national holiday this Tuesday while thousands of fans are gathering near the Obelisco in Buenos Aires to celebrate the World Cup title next to the players who reached the glory.

But things could have taken a tragic twist Monday night after the national team arrived in Argentina when an overhead cable almost hit five stars of La Albicesleste, including Lionel Messi.

Emiliano Martínez shimmies, saves and secures Argentina’s World Cup with vital saves at the end

Emiliano Martínez didn’t have a single shot come toward his goal until the 71st minute. From that moment on he became one of the key figures in Argentina’s 4-2 penalty shootout victory vs. France in the World Cup final after the game finished 3-3 at the end of extra time.

Martínez was one of the most polarizing characters at the 2022 World Cup. His haters despise him for his gamesmanship, taunting and excessive celebratory body gyrations. Martínez’s critics have one other thing to deal with: he’s a DAMN good goalkeeper.

Melbourne derby abandoned after fans storm pitch, attack goalkeeper

The A-League derby between Melbourne City and Melbourne Victory was abandoned amid chaotic scenes following a pitch invasion on Saturday in which City goalkeeper Tom Glover was left bloodied after he was struck in the face.

Glover was hit by a metal bucket used to dispose of flares as fans from the Victory end stormed onto the pitch after the 20-minute mark of the game with City leading 1-0 at Melbourne Rectangular Stadium.

Widow of U.S. soccer journalist Grant Wahl confirms cause of death and no foul play involved

An aortic aneurysm caused the death of Grant Wahl, an American sportswriter who collapsed and died last week while covering a World Cup match in Qatar, his widow said on Wednesday.

"Grant died from the rupture of a slowly growing, undetected ascending aortic aneurysm with hemopericardium," his widow, physician Celine Gounder, wrote in a statement.

An aortic aneurysm is a balloon-like bulge in the aorta, the large artery that carries blood from the heart through the chest and torso, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention's website.

Berhalter isn't acting like U.S. manager by throwing a 20-year-old under the bus

The rumored tension between USMNT manager Gregg Berhalter and precocious talent Giovanni Reyna was confirmed with the final call, as the old horror movie cliché goes, coming from inside the house: Berhalter provided all the saucy details and headline leading quotes during a *checks notes* HOW Institute for Society's Summit on Moral Leadership.
