Manuel Neuer Makes Unbelievable Double Save — And It Didn’t Count Because The Ref Hadn't Blown His Whistle

You gotta feel for the Bayern Munich goalkeeper. Early in the match against Bayer Leverkusen on Saturday, an absolutely insane Manuel Neuer double save on Kevin Volland seemingly kept the German giants from going behind on an early penalty kick.

But because the referee hadn't blown his whistle before the penalty was taken, it was all for naught. The kick had to be retaken and Wendell stepped up to bury the second opportunity, giving Leverkusen an unlikely lead inside five minutes.

Also, we should talk about how amazing a name "German Lux" is. We should LUXuriate in it, if you will.

Here are some possible professions for someone named "German Lux":

Gremio Keeper Pulls Off Finest, Most Important Save You’ll Ever See In Copa Libertadores Semis

Gremio, the traveling side in the first leg, took a 2-0 advantage through Luan and Edilson, but Barcelona had an excellent chance to pull a goal back shortly after halftime and electrify the cauldron of yellow in El Monumental.
