Groovy! Liverpool players get into flares and shades to model their new jersey

Drop season is on. Liverpool became the first Premier League club to launch their jersey for the 2023-24 campaign.

And boy, they got retro.

Liverpool new jersey

The shirt doesn't bring a special pattern or a statement graphic. It's just a simple old red strip with a crewneck and cuffs in white that surely will captivate those who love classic, proper football.

Jürgen Klopp says Liverpool won’t finish in top four which means a possible Europa League return

A resurgence in form is unlikely to help Liverpool qualify for next season's Champions League as fourth-placed Manchester United are unlikely to slip up on the home stretch, manager Jürgen Klopp said on Friday.

Liverpool are on a five-match winning streak that lifted them up to fifth in the Premier League, four points behind United who have a game in hand, but Klopp does not expect their rivals to drop points.

Olivier Giroud says Christian Pulisic used to be “a happy boy” and AC Milan would love to have him

AC Milan forward Olivier Giroud said that USMNT star Christian Pulisic was a “happy boy” at Chelsea when they played together, compared the American to Eden Hazard and claimed he’d be welcomed in Milan.

Giroud made a guest appearance on the CBS Sports GOLAZO! Network on Thursday and shared his experiences of playing with Pulisic. The 36-year-old Frenchman and Pulisic played together for two seasons at Chelsea in the 2019-20 and 2020-21 campaigns, winning the UEFA Champions League in the process.

Here’s what Giroud had to say about Captain America.

Simply invincible — Erling Haaland sets EPL season scoring record with sublime 35th goal

MANCHESTER — Manchester City's Erling Haaland scored his record-breaking 35th Premier League goal of the season to help secure a 3-0 victory against West Ham United that sent his side back to the top of the table on Wednesday.

The Norwegian killed off a stubborn West Ham resistance when he dinked a delicate chip into the net after 70 minutes to break the record for the amount of goals in a single season in the Premier League.

Too much soup/broth spoils the cooks — Chelsea’s unfocused season in focus

About a year ago I bought a new house, it seemed like a good deal at the time. The previous owner had to sell up and get out (some new trade rules impacted his business and forced him to put it on the market according to the agent). The house itself was great; it needed bit of a tidy-up here and there, but with a bit of elbow grease, some TLC and a bit of money spent in the right places I knew I could get it back to its former glory.

Only one man can save Major Leeds Soccer from relegation and that man is Big Sam

Relegation-threatened Leeds United have sacked manager Javi Gracia and appointed veteran coach Sam Allardyce until the end of the season, the Premier League club said on Wednesday.

With four games left, only a superior goal difference is keeping 17th-placed Leeds out of the relegation zone after taking only one point from their last five games.

Allardyce will be the club's third coach this season after American Jesse Marsch was sacked in February.

An open letter to Chelsea fans: Are you guys OK?

Dearest Chelsea fandom,

I hope this letter finds you well, however I seriously doubt it. I trust that you witnessed yet another pathetic performance from your club on Tuesday as the once mighty Blues lost their sixth game in-a-row.

Leeds players apologize after video of squad ignoring a child goes viral

Leeds United players apologized to their fans on Monday after their 4-1 loss at Bournemouth and after a video of the squad ignoring a young fan at the hotel went viral.

The defeat left Leeds a point above the relegation zone as the club stretched their winless run to five matches.

"The performance was not good enough. There is no other way to look at it and the only way to respond is on the pitch," the players said in a statement. "Leeds fans travel up and down the country in huge numbers and deserve more than this."

Jürgen Klopp pulls his hamstring celebrating winner in front of the fourth official

In a match best described as barely-believable, Liverpool took a 3-0 lead over Spurs inside 15 minutes on Sunday before Tottenham stunned Anfield with three of their own, culminating in Richarlison's equalizer at 90+3'.

But Diogo Jota earned all three points for Liverpool at 90+4', and in the ensuing bedlam manager Jürgen Klopp twanged his hamstring while pointedly celebrating the goal in the fourth official's face.

Warning: If you've pulled your hamstring before, this clip will conjure painful memories. You can almost feel this video.

Julián Álvarez earns special praise from Guardiola after wondergoal sends City top

LONDON - Erling Haaland put yet more notches in an incredible first season with Manchester City but Julián Álvarez also received special praise from manager Pep Guardiola after Sunday's 2-1 win at Fulham which put City back on top of the table.

City were dealt a blow with Kevin de Bruyne ruled out with an injury, but even without their Belgian playmaker the combination of Haaland and Álvarez ensured victory.
