Alexi Lalas put the FOX in FOX Soccer this week with a random tweet saying that the United States’ southern border is “a national embarrassment.” The U.S. Soccer community was quick to tear Lalas to shreds.

To clarify, the intent of this article isn’t to put a spotlight on Lalas and his political takes. It’s more so that I had to read this garbage and I don’t want to be the only one suffering.

Spain's soccer chief Luis Rubiales finally quits in kiss scandal

BARCELONA – Spanish football federation chief Luis Rubiales quit his post on Sunday after three weeks of scandal over allegations he gave an unsolicited kiss to a player on the women's national team as they celebrated their World Cup victory last month.

Rubiales announced his resignation in a statement in which he said his position had become untenable, with the Spanish Football Federation (RFEF) later confirming he had sent a resignation letter to acting president Pedro Rocha.

Szymon Marciniak will fulfill his role as the referee for the Champions League final after the Pole apologized for participating in an event associated with an extreme-right movement, Europe's soccer governing body UEFA said on Friday.

UEFA were investigating his presence at an event organized in Katowice on Monday, saying they "abhor the values that are promoted by the group", but kept him on as the referee after an apology and clarification from an anti-discrimination body.

Indonesia stripped of U-20 World Cup hosting rights after refusing to host Israel’s team

Indonesia has been stripped of the right to host this year's Under-20 soccer World Cup, FIFA said on Wednesday.

The decision to stop Indonesia staging the May 20-June 11 tournament was taken after the country's football federation (PSSI) said it had canceled the draw because the governor of the largely Hindu island of Bali refused to host Israel's team.

"FIFA has decided, due to the current circumstances, to remove Indonesia as the host of the FIFA U-20 World Cup 2023," a FIFA statement said.
