Carlos Tevez Announces His Retirement After Turning Down An Offer To Play In MLS

Carlos Tevez is done playing professionally. The 38-year-old announced on Saturday that he will be hanging up his boots for good after 20 years of playing.

Tevez will be fondly remembered for his time in the Premier League with West Ham, Manchester United and Manchester City. The Argentine hasn’t played in the past year after he left Boca Juniors citing burnout. The loss of his father due to Covid-19 in Feb. 2021 also contributed to his decision.

34-Year-Old Rui Patrício Makes Unbelievable Full-Stretch Save To Secure Roma’s First European Trophy

José Mourinho made history on Wednesday when his Roma side became the first club to win the Europa Conference League defeating Feyenoord 1-0. He’s now the only manager in history to win all three of Europe’s tournaments and he can give a big thanks to goalkeeper Rui Patrício for making a massive save to keep his side ahead on Wednesday.

Rui Patrício was nearly written off as a goalkeeper heading into the 2021-22 season. The previous season he had been anything but consistent with Wolves and left for Roma after one of his worst seasons (51 goals conceded in 37 games).

7 Stepovers And A Rabona — Mario Balotelli What Have You Done?!

Mario Balotelli went off on the final day of the Turkish Super Lig on Sunday. The Italian scored five goals, but it was the final Balotelli goal vs Goztepe that set the internet on fire.

Balotelli’s Adana Demirspor crushed relegated Goztepe 7-0 on Sunday in a match that meant little for either side. Demirspor was stuck in mid-table regardless of the outcome, and Goztepe had long since been relegated.

That didn’t stop the home side from putting on a show, especially Balotelli, who had a hat trick by halftime.

Safe Hands Under Stress: The Crucial Saves That Defined A Week Of Big Games

Despite all the hype, cup finals and semifinals tend to disappoint. Nerves take hold of the players, and the play on the pitch is dictated by a fear of losing rather than a desire to win. These matches become cagey affairs defined by midfield battles and long clearances, both caused by an aversion to conceding.

This week was different. The FA Cup final was an end-to-end affair, the notoriously-prudent EFL Championship playoff semifinals were both entertaining affairs and the Europa League final was an emotive footballing masterclass.
