Should The English Premier League Have Playoffs?

If you’re a sucker for tradition in soccer, then this concept will sound quite controversial to you. But as is the case in a number of other leagues across the globe, they have playoffs to decide who is crowned the champion of their respective leagues.

Yes, the vast majority of the main leagues in Europe do not follow this format. A team that manages to outlast everyone over the course of the season deserves to be the king of the league, right?

This Club Season Reeked Of An Unavoidable European Super League

“The world is changed. I feel it in the water. I feel it in the earth. I smell it in the air. Much that once was is lost; for none now live who remember it.” -What middle-aged soccer fans will be saying come 2040

The English Championship Is The Most Exciting League In The World

Are you sick and tired of seeing the same teams in the same positions every season? Do you want to watch a club that's in the playoff final one year and just above the relegation zone in the next? Do you want a league that's incredibly unpredictable? If your answer is YES to all of the above, then we have just the league for you — the English Championship.

The Most Stacked World Cup Teams At Every Position

When putting together this list of the world’s most stacked teams at every position, two things really stood out to me: Spain is really good at football, and watching Argentina play (Messi not included) really should be a much more joyful exercise.

Luka Modric In MLS Would Be Like Einstein Pulling A Billy Madison

Aside from the more technical aspects of U.S. youth soccer development, there’s a very real and very obvious significance in having players worthy of serving as inspirations to young Americans in MLS. While Lionel Messi and Neymar will always be accessible via YouTube highlights, there’s something much more tangible and effective with regards to seeing an otherworldly talent live.

Goodbye Arsene Wenger, Thank You For Helping Me Feel

In the outpouring of eulogies surrounding the end of Arsene Wenger’s time at Arsenal, you’re going to read two popular refrains: (1) the beginning was better than the end and (2) there’s some degree of face-saving in his decision to walk with a year yet to go on his current contract.

Your Premier League Club’s Season In GIF Format

With just a few weeks remaining in the 2017-18 Premier League season, we are quickly winding down towards one of the most anticlimactic final days of all-time. With A 7-Peat Looming, What Can Be Done To Curb Juve’s Power In Serie A?

This was meant to be a blockbuster weekend. There was so much going on in Serie A. The Rome derby. Inter versus Atalanta. Milan versus Napoli. All the fallout from the midweek European ties. The build up to next weekend’s potential title decider in Turin.

Instead, it all kind of fizzled out. All of the most interesting fixtures ended in goalless draws, extinguishing any chance of a title race and offering us no progress in the race for the Champions League. A damp squib of a weekend, all build up and no pay off.

How Jorge Mendes Single-Handedly Got Wolves Promoted

Wolverhampton Wanderers were in League One almost four years ago. Fast forward to today, and they are on the verge of securing a return to the Premier League. How did a club, which was relegated from the Premier League (2011-12 season) and the Championship (2012-13 season) in consecutive years, manage to steady the ship and get itself back on track?

Two words: Jorge. Mendes. Yes, the Jorge Mendes, who is the agent of Cristiano Ronaldo and Jose Mourinho. It is quite a murky situation in terms of what Mendes’ role at Wolves actually is.
