Former Argentinian forward Gonzalo Higuaín had low expectations coming to MLS but now is learning to respect the competition. The 33-year-old exclaimed he expected to play with a cigarette in his mouth, it was going to be that easy.

Through seven matches in the 2021 MLS season, Higuaín has four goals and one assist. He was quoted on Christain Vieri's Twitch live stream a few days ago saying, "I thought I would come to MLS and play with a cigarette in my mouth and instead it is difficult."

MLS All-Stars Vs. Liga MX All-Stars Set For Aug. 25 In Los Angeles

Major League Soccer announced Wednesday that its 2021 All-Star Game will feature the MLS All-Stars against the Liga MX All-Stars on Aug. 25 in Los Angeles.

The match, slated for Banc of California Stadium, will mark the first time the MLS and Liga MX All-Stars have squared off in the All-Star Game format.

Los Angeles FC coach Bob Bradley will coach the MLS team against the Mexico top-division stars.

Major League Soccer levied a $2 million fine on Inter Miami on Friday after an investigation found that the second-year team violated the league's salary budget and roster regulations.

MLS also fined Miami managing owner Jorge Mas $250,000 and suspended former sporting director Paul McDonough through the end of the 2022 season. McDonough was fired by Atlanta United on Friday.
