The Dutch Eredivisie is known for its attacking play, and this past weekend proved to be no exception. In one of the most thrilling come-from-behind wins of the season, FC Twente beat Willem II 3 to 2 Sunday.

After defender Renato Tapia was sent off with one of the softest red cards we have seen in a long time, FC Twente was down a man and a goal heading into extra time. A miracle was needed, and Jesus Corona provided the piece of play that inspired FC Twente to victory. 

People can have a hard time coming to terms with "different," whether it is other individuals, the world around them, or anywhere in between. Amazing is different just like terrible is different, but we tend to remember instances of the latter. That is why different can catch us off guard, or make us feel uncomfortable, because different is strange. It does not fit in, or if it does, it is not immediately obvious, and that makes it seem inaccessible.  

Managerial positions in the game of soccer are incredibly unstable, often thankless jobs. If you are a manager, one moment you are held as a prophet sent by the gods of soccer to guide your team along a path of victory, and the next those same fans are paying for billboards that call for your head - or at the very least your resignation. 

Carlos Vela just won La Liga’s Player of the Month Award for the month of November . Under normal circumstances, the award would be all well and good, and we would have no problem celebrating the night away with Vela and his legion of admirers. 

The coach of the Mexican National Team, Miguel Herrera, has signed a new contract that will keep him managing Mexico until 2018, and he has wasted no time in discussing his plans for his team. 

In a recent interview, Herrera stated that he expects to not only put forth a competitive team for Mexico’s two upcoming tournaments this summer, he expects Mexico to be successful in 2015.

That headline would have mattered so much more, oh, say, 4 months and 13 days ago, but alas, time moves on and less meaningful friendlies are played. The victory may be "meaningless" for Mexico, but who scored the goals that ensured it is anything but.
