Cristiano Ronaldo receives call up to play in record SIXTH Euro with Portugal

Portugal's 39-year-old forward Cristiano Ronaldo will play in his sixth European Championship and veteran defender Pepe also made the cut as coach Roberto Martinez named his 26-man squad on Tuesday.

Ronaldo, who has scored in every Euro since his first appearance in 2004, has netted 14 goals in the tournament. He also scored 10 times in European qualifying matches last year.

The U.S. men’s national team released their official roster for their pair of friendlies in June.

Ahead of what will be two tough matches against CONMEBOL powerhouses Colombia and Brazil, the squad led by Gregg Berhalter has announced the 27 players that will participate in the USMNT’s last training camp before the Copa América.

(Reuters) - World Cup winning coach Cesar Luis Menotti, who led Argentina to the title in 1978, has died at the age of 85, the Argentine Football Association (AFA) said on Sunday.

Menotti, who played for Rosario Central, Boca Juniors and Santos, began his coaching career at Newell's Old Boys and won the Argentine championship with Huracan in 1973, before taking over as head coach of the Argentine national team in 1974.

United States' Sergino Dest will miss the Copa America after tearing his anterior cruciate ligament (ACL), with the defender confirming he will undergo surgery soon.

Dest, who has spent this season on loan at PSV Eindhoven from Barcelona, suffered the injury late last month while training with the Dutch club.

"Unfortunately I've torn my ACL, I will have an operation soon and will try to come back as soon as possible to my top level. It will be a difficult time for me," Dest said in a video posted on social media.
