It’s Here: The Trailer For The New Diego Maradona Documentary Is Unreal

Ready? The “Diego Maradona” documentary is set to debut at the Cannes Film Festival before arriving in cinemas on June 14. Using over 500 hours of unseen footage from Maradona’s own archive, the film promises a stunningly personal look at the seven years he spent with Napoli in Italy’s Serie A.

Maradona Said He’s Planning To Quit Dorados — And Football — Over Penalty Call

Diego Maradona’s coaching career might be over after a contentious match Friday night in Ascenso MX.

The Argentine legend was named coach of Dorados de Sinaloa in the fall and actually had a bit of success (at least on the pitch), reaching the final of the Apertura campaign. After reaching the Copa MX quarterfinals this year, Dorados could have clinched qualification for the Clausura Liguilla with a win on Friday against Venados.

After leading Dorados to the final of the 2018 Apertura, things are going just as swimmingly on the pitch for manager Diego Maradona during the Clausura half of the season. However, things are just as erratic and honestly quite concerning off it.

I Know How I Want To Be Commemorated When I Die (Or Win The Lottery)

How do you best secure your legacy for as close to all eternity as humanly possible? Is it by practicing an inscrutably benevolent existence, and by leaving breadcrumbs of goodwill along this path we call life? Or is it by building a Great Pyramid in the style of Khufu?

Last time we checked in with Diego Maradona and Dorados, it was to report on the Argentine legend’s antics during his side’s Ascenso MX Apertura final defeat. After the heartbreak of that 4-3 aggregate defeat, Maradona has since returned to lead Dorados during the Clausura season.

While the club has achieved success in the Copa MX — they’ll play Liga MX side Atlas on Tuesday in the Round of 16 — the regular season has been something of a disaster for the club. After six matches, Dorados has only managed one win.

How Does A 31-Year-Old Messi Compare To Other Legends At That Age?

The debate as to which footballer, at the height of their powers, reigned supreme will rage until the end of time. Pelé as a teenager? Diego Maradona at 26? O Fenômeno at 21? Take your pick and you’ll find more than enough evidence to support your claim.

But there’s never been anything like the consistent dominance of Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo into their 30s. Yesterday, Messi notched his 400th league goal for Barcelona, making him sole-member of the club for players that’ve reached that milestone for one club in Europe’s top five leagues.
