Lionel Messi

Welcome to Miami, bienvenido a Miami: Lionel Messi is here

The Messi clan has arrived in the United States. Disembarking from their $15.5 million private jet, Lionel, Antonela, Thiago, Ciro and Mateo were recorded at the Fort Lauderdale Executive Airport on Tuesday afternoon, just hours after the official Lionel Messi presentation date and time was confirmed by Inter Miami.

This travel experience is nothing new for the Messi family as they've frequented Miami during the offseason. It hasn't been confirmed where they'll be living permanently, but for now the Messis will reside at the Porsche Design Tower in Sunny Isles Beach.

Where is Lionel Messi? When is he coming to Inter Miami?

So, Lionel Messi is coming to Inter Miami. But when exactly is he coming?

It has been almost a month since the Argentine world champion announced that he would be joining MLS. However, he still hasn't set foot in the United States.

Where is he?

We know he is on vacation, but we're not sure of his exact location.

Messi mic drop: Leo wins UEFA Champions League goal of the season

The amazing Lionel Messi goal vs Benfica from October 5 was voted as the goal of the season for the 2022-23 UEFA Champions League on Friday.

Messi’s contract with PSG also expired on Friday meaning that on his last day of being under contract for a European club he won the goal of the season award. Not a bad way to go out.

Here’s the goal that won him the award.

Tata Martino says that Lionel Messi’s time at Miami won’t be a vacation

Lionel Messi and Sergio Busquets are joining Inter Miami to compete, not for a holiday, the newly appointed coach of the Major League Soccer (MLS) side Gerardo Martino said.

The 60-year-old coached Messi and Busquets at Barcelona in 2013-14 before managing Argentina from 2014-16.

Record seven-time Ballon d'Or winner Messi, 36, opted not to renew his contract with Ligue 1 champions Paris St Germain and will be reunited with former Barca teammate Busquets, who spent 18 years at Camp Nou.

A World Cup champion leads MLS All-Star squad vs. Arsenal – and no, it's not Messi

MLS revealed the 26-player roster for the upcoming All-Star Game against Arsenal, which will be played in Washington D.C. on July 19.

The list includes a World Cup champion, but before you get all excited, that man is not Lionel Messi: Heading the squad is Atlanta United star and Lio's countryman, Thiago Almada.

You can't buy an official Lionel Messi Inter Miami jersey yet – here's why

Since Lionel Messi announced he would be joining Inter Miami, I'm sure many of you have tried to get a hand on an OFFICIAL – caps intentional – jersey with his name and the iconic number 10 on the back.

However, I also know that all of your attempts have failed.

There are no Messi jerseys in Inter Miami's physical stores. Zero. And when you attempted to personalize a shirt with the Argentine's credentials on their website, you most likely had seen the following message: "We are unable to customize this item with the text you have entered. Please try a different entry."

It's a friendly, Leo, go easy on them! Messi scores hat trick on 36th birthday

It's probably for the best that Lionel Messi was way too busy to watch Inter Miami play on Saturday night. While the Herons were getting smacked 4-1 by Philadelphia for a seventh consecutive defeat in MLS, Messi was celebrating his 36th birthday in his hometown of Rosario and playing in a testimonial match for Newell's Old Boys legend Maxi Rodríguez.

5 animals Lionel Messi should keep an eye on while living in Florida

Among the reasons Lionel Messi decided to play for Inter Miami is the idea of enjoying soccer "in a calmer way" while having more time around his family.

Sure, it sounds like a long-term vacation, a downgrade to an ill-called "retirement league," but the truth is Messi shouldn't let his guard down.

Not only because there are defenders like Walker Zimmermann and Miles Robinson that can make him run for his money, but also because off the pitch, there are a series of animals and critters living in Florida that he — and his lovely family — should be keeping an eye on.

Messi's move to MLS is a creative deal that follows in the footsteps of David Beckham

Few would doubt Lionel Messi’s impact on European football. The scorer of 474 goals during his long career at Barcelona, he has been named the best footballer in the world a record seven times.

Now we are about to see what impact Messi will have on football in America. For the Argentine, who has spent the last two seasons playing for Paris Saint-Germain, has decided not to accept offers to play in Saudi Arabia, and is joining Inter Miami in Florida instead.
