The devastating attack on Nice, France that resulted in the tragic loss of 85 people is still being painfully processed in the country’s fifth most populous city. Local club OGC Nice have now released a beautiful, touching kit paying homage to those victims whose lives were appallingly cut short on France's Bastille Day.

The Ligue 1 club released the following image of the shirt through their official Twitter page:

As far as debuts go, this is about as bad as it can get. We’re sure Jeremy Menez would’ve rather been sent off or scored an own goal in his Bordeaux bow, but he’s lost an ear. 

The 29-year-old transferred from AC Milan to Bordeaux, in his native France, and made his debut for the club against Lorient. Lorient midfielder Didier Ndong promptly asserted himself as the Mike Tyson to Menez’s Evander Holyfield, stepping on his head and tearing his ear off.

This is not a pretty sight.

The Unai Emery era is underway at PSG after the Parisians played their first friendly of the season, against West Brom. The first goal of Emery's tenure came from a very appropriate source, the consensus best offensive center back in the world: David Luiz. Bang.

Hatem Ben Arfa killed it for OGC Nice this season. The thought-to-be-burnt-out winger torched French football for 18 goals and six assists in all competitions, and he looked good doing it. Like, Messi good.

And before you get all uppity about me using the m-word, just check out the video below showcasing the goals he scored this year. They vary from penalties to “holy s***, I can’t believe he’s done that.”

It doesn’t get any more real than this. All those stories you hear about teams gathering together and rallying at the last moment are don't only live in dreams. It’s easy to forget that, but what you are about to see will drive that point home.

Zlatan's last Ligue 1 game with PSG was a special production. He still has one more game with the Parisiens (the Coupe de France final Saturday), but this was effectively his send-off. It didn't disappoint, and neither did he.
