Inter Miami Cheated DP, TAM Rules To Sign Blaise Matuidi, MLS Says

Major League Soccer (MLS) has said that Inter Miami's signing of French World Cup-winning midfielder Blaise Matuidi last year was not in compliance with their roster and budget rules and that the club could face sanctions.

The side co-owned by David Beckham recruited Matuidi on a free transfer after he left Italian champions Juventus in August. The league said last month it would launch a formal review of the deal.

I Hope MLS Expansion Never Ends, Even If Everyone Else Disagrees

As Major League Soccer’s 26th season begins this weekend, a record 27 teams will compete for the MLS Cup. That number will expand to 29 by 2023, with a 30th club in the works. While there are plenty of critics who say expansion is diluting the quality on the pitch and merely enriching current owners’ pockets with expansion fees, I for one want to see MLS expansion continue well beyond 30 teams. If you’re going to go big, go really fucking big. I’m talking 40, 50, 60 teams even.

It’s A Comeback Year For MLS Jerseys Thanks To Some Much-Needed Spice

The 2021 Major League Soccer season begins on April 17, which is just over 50 days away. It’s been a hellish winter for Texas, the Plains and New York, but there are better times ahead — heralded by the 2021 MLS jerseys that are now being released.

MLS Delivers Most Accessible Season Ever With 100+ Games On National TV

The 26th season of Major League Soccer begins on Friday, April 16, with a nationally televised match between the Seattle Sounders and Minnesota United on FS1 (a rematch of last year’s unbelievable Western Conference final). The MLS national TV schedule 2021 grows from there with FOX Sports, ABC/ESPN and TUDN all broadcasting a historic amount of games.

How All 27 MLS Clubs Are Preparing To Welcome Back Fans For Home Openers

The 2021 MLS season marks the return of fans to stadiums across the league and, God willing, the death of fake crowd noise. Beginning with the start of the regular season on Friday, April 16, teams across the country will welcome back supporters at grounds with capacity generally limited to somewhere between 10 and 50 percent.

David Beckham Refuses To Work While Doing Doughnuts Beneath The Overpass

Sometimes I think about how little that vast majority of life and its hard-knock lessons pertain to David Beckham. Yes, he once gave Diego Simeone a love tap on the knee-pit, but that 23-year-old incident hardly caused Golden Balls to shrink from being fully alive for the rest of his days.

Daniel Sturridge Reportedly Drawing Interest From Two MLS Teams

As reported by The Mirror's John Cross, ex-Liverpool star Daniel Sturridge is weighing up a potential move to MLS.

Both DC United and David Beckham's Inter Miami have reportedly made their interest in Sturridge known to the player's agent. Beckham and Inter Miami, coached by Phil Neville, have already shown their pulling power, attracting high-caliber international players such as Blaise Matuidi and Gonzalo Higuain.

MLS Investigating If Inter Miami Paid Blaise Matuidi Under The Table

Major League Soccer on Friday launched a formal review of Inter Miami's signing of midfielder Blaise Matuidi.

According to a brief statement issued by the league, the investigation will focus on whether the signing in August 2020 complied with MLS salary budget and roster guidelines. The league said it will make no further comment until completion of its investigation.

Beckham Defends Hiring His Friend As Inter Miami Coach: ‘We’re Running A Serious Club Here’

Forced to operate from a distance last year due to the COVID-19 pandemic, David Beckham promised on Friday to be the hands on owner he said he would be and defended hiring his friend Phil Neville as Inter Miami coach.

Despite qualifying for the Major League Soccer playoffs in their debut campaign in 2020, Beckham said he was not happy with the culture within the club he co-owns with Jorge Mas and started the new season by sacking manager Diego Alonso and bringing in former Manchester United teammate Neville.
