Twelve different countries are competing in women’s soccer this summer and are putting on one of the greatest shows ever seen. What if this clash of culture and competition was decided on the kitchen counter instead of the field?
Back in 1979, the New York Cosmos set an NASL record for most points in a season, one that would obliterate any Premier League, LaLiga, Bundesliga or Serie A points record. Led by Franz Beckenbauer, Giorgio Chinaglia and Carlos Alberto, the Cosmos racked up an unthinkable 216 points in a 30-game season.

Bayern forward Joshua Zirkzee has gone about as close to underground as possible after he committed one of the worst errors ever seen on Saturday. During a friendly against Ajax, Zirkzee got a little too confident in front of goal. This Zirkzee miss will take a long time to live down.
Zirkzee had done everything right. The 20-year-old produced a slick piece of skill to round the Ajax goalkeeper and only needed to tap the ball into the net. Instead, Zirkzee took his foot off the gas, giving the defender enough time to recover.
The idea of sex in the Olympic village was taboo for a while but is now a well-known occurrence. When news spread that this year's Olympic beds were partly made of cardboard, rumors spread that this was imposed to discourage athletes from doing the dirty.
