Behold: The N64 GoldenEye 007 Characters As Footballers

Released in 1997 on Nintendo 64, GoldenEye 007 brought countless hours of joy to crowded living rooms across the land as friends crowded around the TV to get their turn at dual-wielding Klobbs in four-player split-screen battles.

On Tuesday, Rare Limited, the brilliant video game developer behind the original title, broke the internet by confirming a long-rumored recreation of the game for Xbox consoles.

From Howard To Horvath: How Many American Keepers Have Played In The Champions League?

Last week, an American seldom known by even the most astute USMNT fans made his debut in the UEFA Champions League. Josh Cohen played all 90 minutes between the posts for Israeli side Maccabi Haifa during the club's 2-0 defeat to Benfica.

Xavi Laughs Off Idea That Playing At Bayern Is Like Barça Entering ‘House Of Horrors’

MUNICH - Barcelona coach Xavi Hernández laughed off the notion that playing at Bayern Munich is like visiting the "house of horrors" ahead of Tuesday's mouthwatering Champions League Group C clash.

They met in last season's group stage, with the Germans twice winning 3-0, although Barça are now a very different side and spearheaded by striker Robert Lewandowski, who moved to the Nou Camp from the Bavarians in the close season.

Guess Who's Back In The English Premier League?

Newcastle United have signed goalkeeper Loris Karius on a short-term contract until January with an option to extend the deal until the end of the season, the Premier League club said on Monday.

The 29-year-old has been signed as a replacement for Karl Darlow, who is sidelined with an ankle injury.

"We are pleased to add Loris to our goalkeeping group. He is a very good goalkeeper with Premier League and European experience and he will provide competition and support over an important part of the season," manager Eddie Howe said.

Nottingham Forest Sets Premier League Record For Most Transfers In A Single Window

Transfer deadline day is traditionally known for last-minute deals and panic buys as clubs scramble to sign players for the long campaign. Something a little different happened this summer in England's East Midlands.

Nottingham Forest — which had signed an astounding 18 players up to this point — brought in three more players before the end of transfer deadline day, bringing its total to 21 signings for the summer transfer window. Two deals — for Chelsea striker Michy Batshuayi and free agent right back Serge Aurier — fell through at the final hurdle.

Early-Season EPL Sackings: Do the Numbers Justify Managerial Moves?

We are less than a month into the Premier League season but we already have our first managerial firing, as Bournemouth manager Scott Parker received his pink slip on Tuesday after just four league matches.

The season started promisingly for the team with an opening day win against Aston Villa, then went downhill with three massive defeats against Manchester City, Arsenal, and Liverpool (by a combined score of 16-0). Even with the poor results against the trio of title contenders, the Cherries are in 17th place, one point above the relegation zone.

Is Crystal Palace Named After A Crystal Palace? Explaining The EPL's Most Unusual Club Name

English football is known for oddly named teams: Nottingham Forest, Accrington Stanley, Leyton Orient. Yet even with these curious labels, there is one commonality between these clubs — they are named after neighborhoods or towns.

In fact, only one EFL side is not named after a place — League One side Port Vale, whose title represents the valley of ports on the Trent and Mersey Canal.

But one club seems to reject all logic with its name: Crystal Palace. London has a region known as Crystal Palace, but the title is only as old as the football club itself.
