Mexico Lose U-17 World Cup Semifinal In Crazy Game With Nigeria

Mexico's run in the U-17 World Cup came to an end Thursday in a 4-2 loss to NIgeria in a game that mayy would describe as a thriller (we would describe it like this, for example).

The U-17s got off to a near-perfect start when Kevin Magaña put El Tri ahead in the seventh minute.

The Trophy Drought Is Over: Chivas Won The Copa MX

Chivas last year were very nearly a disaster. They barely escaped relegation in Liga MX, and it was disconcerting to see a once-great side fall so far.

The times appear to be changing though, because Wednesday Chivas won the Copa MX, defeating Leon 1-0 in the final. This ended a nine-year trophyless run.

Oswaldo Alanis headed Chivas into the lead in the 71st minute, ensuring victory for the Guadalajara side.

Miguel Layun Scores, Mexico Begins Takeover Of Europe

A long time ago, when people in Europe thought that their continent might actually be the entire world, explorers roamed the oceans and landed in Mexico. They eventually took over, which led to the westernized Mexico we see today. But now Mexico is fighting back. Miguel Layun, Chicharito and others are doing the unthinkable — taking over Europe.

Chicharito Scores Again In The Champions League, Sets CONCACAF Record

Chicharito Hernandez did a number of things today. He scored in his fifth straight game (seven total during that stretch) for Bayer Leverkusen in all competitions. He set the CONCACAF record for career goals in the UEFA Champions league (12 so far).

Unfortunately for Hernandez, Bayer couldn't get a result against Roma, losing 3-2 despite Hernandez's goal.

Ronaldo's Best Goals

Ronaldo Luís Nazário de Lima should be considered as one of the greatest footballers to ever live. Known to most as "Ronaldo", the Brazilian from Rio de Janiero was an absolute horse on the field while having the touch of a cat. The number 9 striker always seemed to be two steps ahead of his counter parts and would constantly leave his opponents baffled or guessing what his next move would be. This video showcases that he is the real "Ronaldo". Like in all sports, the rare combination of speed, strength and creativity was what seperated Ronaldo from other strikers.

Can Mexico Be Stopped In The U-17 World Cup?

The Mexico U-17 team took another step toward earning a third-straight trip to the U-17 World Cup final Monday by defeating Ecuador 2-0.

Claudio Zamudio's volley from the center of the box off of a corner in the 41st minute opened the scoring, and Bryan Salazar nailed a penalty in the 55th minute, after Jose Gurrola drew a foul, to put the game away. This is Mexico's third-straight trip o the semi-finals.

He Nutmegged A Defender Twice. What He Did Next, Everybody Saw Coming

The triple nutmeg is a rare but vicious beast. If you should encounter one in the wild, give it a safe distance and back away slowly, lest you get nutmegged yourself.

But seriously, Werder Bremen's Zlatko Junuzovic is handing out nutmegs like Santa handing out presents. He did Borussia Dortmund's Sokratis dirty three times in the same run, and left poor Sokratis, who Dortmund have probably cut, or even humanely put down, by now.

Viewer discretion is advised for this video. Do not watch it if you are squeamish or in any way bothered by nutmegs.

Chicharito Scores For Leverkusen, Continues Run Of Good Form

Chicharito is on fire. We repeat: CHICHARITO IS ON FIRE.

Javier Hernandez scored against Wolfsburg Saturday, making four goals in six games for the Mexican Bayer Leverkusen striker.

Ronaldinho Shows He's Still Got It With A No-Look Assist In A Testimonial

We miss Ronaldinho.

We miss watching him run and pass and dribble and shoot. We miss watching him make defenders look silly, all the while with the silliest of smiles on his face.

We miss the fun, the joy, the hijinks and the incredible moments of magic he produced when playing the beautiful game.

Federico Higuain Is Out There Making MLS Look Awesome

Toronto FC clinched its spot in the MLS Cup playoffs when Sebastian Giovinco did this ridiculous thing to the East-leading New York Red Bulls.

But just a few days later the Columbus Crew came to town and Federico Higuaín (brother of Napoli and Argentina striker Gonzalo Higuain) did this other ridiculous thing to Giovinco’s side.
