Well, it happened. Real Madrid secured a 13th Champions League title with the help of Gareth Bale’s insane skill, Benzema’s meh goal and Sergio Ramos’ ethically questionable defending.
Only moments after Sadi Mane saved the life (and dignity) of Liverpool keeper Loris Karius with a second-half equalizer, Gareth Bale came off the bench as the ultimate super sub and did this (with Titanic music for extra effect):

Real Madrid eased towards their May 26 UEFA Champions League final date with Liverpool by thumping Celta Vigo 6-0 on Saturday in league play. With Cristiano Ronaldo nursing an ankle injury until the match in Kiev, it was up to Isco, Gareth Bale and Karim Benzema to lead the attack at the Bernabeu.
A remarkably contentious — almost hilariously so — El Clasico ended 2-2, a result that won’t particularly bother Real Madrid but one that sees Barcelona extend this season’s unbeaten league run to 35 matches. If you’re a Real Madrid fan, Barcelona got away with murder; if you’re a Barcelona fan, Real Madrid got special treatment. So just another El Clasico, really.
