World Cup group scenarios for Mexico and what they need to advance to the knockout stage

Fans might be wondering “is Mexico out of the World Cup?” after the latest 2-0 defeat to Argentina. No, Mexico still has a chance to advance from the group stage.

Is Mexico Out Of The World Cup?

Mexico still has a small chance of advancing out of the group stage with one game to go. El Tri’s World Cup campaign is off to a brutal start with no goals scored, a draw with Poland and a defeat to Argentina.

Messi puts Argentina on his back with guided missile from 25 yards out

Argentina promised the world a response after that catastrophic opening defeat to Saudi Arabia. With over 60 minutes gone against Mexico on Saturday, La Albiceleste looked just as hopeless and ineffective, landing zero shots on target and failing time after time in Mexico's half.

But when you have one Lionel Messi, your threat level is always high.

Friday's 0-0 draw exposes the difference in expectations between the United States and England

In the aftermath of the fifth 0-0 draw at this year’s World Cup, the reception has been mixed. The abnormality in this instance is that your location in relation to the Atlantic Ocean seems to determine your opinions regarding the result and the match as a whole.

Mbappé double sends France into the knockout round

The reigning World Champions are always among the favorites to repeat four years later. Since 2010, however, the previous victors have all stumbled and fallen at the first hurdle, going out in the group stage in what has come to be known as the champions curse.

Each example has been as baffling as the last, but France has finally put an end to the curse by clinching a spot in the knockout round with a 2-1 win over Denmark.

Weston McKennie praises Gregg Berhalter's tactics but admits there's one thing missing

DOHA - The United States shut out a European side at the World Cup for the first time since 1950 but left the tent-like Al Bayt Stadium without a win after Friday's tense goalless stalemate against England, a contest where they were superior for long periods.

England had crushed Iran 6-2 in their Group B opener to justify their status as one of the tournament favorites, but they were fortunate to come away with a point against Gregg Berhalter's young and energetic team.

Weston McKennie wiping his hands dry on a photographer’s vest is still making us laugh

Weston McKennie is easily one of the most likeable players on the U.S. men’s national team. Not only is he the USA’s best player, but he has such an infectious and positive personality.

Whether he’s hitting his Harry Potter goal celebration, dying his hair red, white and blue or just being hilarious, he’s just so entertaining.

His former Juventus teammate Matthijs de Ligt once told the media that McKennie was the funniest player on the team and that he “lives in a completely different world.”

Epic fail from Saudi Arabia defender gifts Robert Lewandowski his first World Cup goal

Despite another impressive performance from Saudi Arabia, Poland defeated the World Cup underdogs 2-0 on Saturday. We also got to see the first ever Robert Lewandowski World Cup goal.

The score doesn’t accurately reflect how dominant Saudi Arabia was through most of the game. It was Poland that was able to finish some of its chances.

Lewandowski provided the assist for Piotr Zielinski in the 39th minute to help Poland score their first goal of the tournament.
