FIFA 19 Cover Is Missing Something Important

Perhaps more than any other video game, the cover boy for the FIFA video game franchise is a symbol of who has made it on the world stage. While EA Sports often adds region-specific secondary or even tertiary figures, there is typically just one primary player n. The FIFA 19 cover bucks that trend.

For the latest installment in the preeminent footballing franchise, EA Sports has opted for two of the world’s three best players to grace the FIFA 19 cover.

Dax McCarty: The Chicago Fire Are Still Favorites For The World Cup

It was a wild ride for American midfielder Dax McCarty in 2017. In January, McCarty was recalled by the national team for the first time since 2011, but he was subsequently shocked to learn that after five and a half seasons with the New York Red Bulls, he’d been dealt to the Chicago Fire before the start of the new campaign.

McCarty then helped the USMNT triumph at the Gold Cup, starting in two group stage games and appearing in five games overall, including a late substitute appearance in the final against Jamaica.

FIFA 19 Trailer: IT’S GOT THE CHAMPIONS LEAGUE

The official FIFA 19 reveal trailer dropped on Saturday with the game slated for a worldwide release on September 28, 2018. The big news is that Cristiano Ronaldo will reprise his role as cover star, and FIFA 19 HAS ADDED THE UEFA CHAMPIONS LEAGUE.

EA Sports' Predicted World Cup Winner Isn't A Big Surprise

The friendly folks over at EA Sports decided to get in on all the predicted World Cup winner frenzy. With the World Cup update now available in FIFA 18, they ran a simulation of the whole tournament, so here’s a breakdown of what happens from the group stages all the way through to the final. Some of you will be delighted, others will want to send angry emails to EA Sports telling them how their game is rigged or some other excuse you can think of.

A New Must-Have Feature We Want To See In FIFA 19

Year after year, EA Sports trots out a new edition of its FIFA football franchise. The game is always pretty good, is probably the best soccer video game out there (sorry PES fans) and always includes new tweaks and improvements. But we really want one of the new FIFA 19 features to be something akin to this hilarious feature in Super Mega Baseball 2.

Your FIFA 18 Is Getting A Free World Cup Update Come May 29

Starting on May 29 (16 days before the World Cup officially kicks off), you’ll be able to download a free update to FIFA 18 that focuses solely on bringing the 2018 FIFA World Cup to life. EA SPORTS just announced the content, which features a “2018 FIFA World Cup Russia” mode, a “Custom Tournament” option (let’s go, USMNT!) and “FIFA World Cup Ultimate Team.”

Will The Champions League Be Featured On FIFA 19?

FIFA gamers have reason to celebrate, as there's an increasing chance that FIFA 19 will feature the Champions League.

UEFA and Konami, the developer of Pro Evolution Soccer (PES), announced that they have ended their partnership after ten years. During that time PES held the licensing rights to the Champions League and the Europa League.

What’s Next For eMLS Cup Champion Kid M3Mito And Why Anyone Should Care

With 19 MLS clubs sending professional gamers to Boston to compete in the tournament, Houston’s Kid M3Mito has dominated the competition, the only player to make it through the first round undefeated.
