Alphonso Davies gets game-winning assist, Messi's jersey in Bayern's win over PSG

One day after being nominated for the 2022 FIFPRO World 11, Alphonso Davies came off the bench and provided a dime for Kingsley Coman in Bayern Munich's 1-0 away victory over PSG in their Champions League last-16 first leg at the Parc des Princes on Tuesday night.

Bayern manager Julian Nagelsmann elected to start João Cancelo at left wing-back over Davies, and while the visitors controlled the opening 45 with the ball almost strictly in PSG's half, there wasn't enough penetration to trouble Gianluigi Donnarumma and the central pairing of Sergio Ramos and Marquinhos.

Czech Republic international Jakub Jankto announced on Monday that he is gay, saying he wants to live his life “in freedom.”

Jankto, who plays for Sparta Prague on loan from LaLiga side Getafe, made his international debut in 2017.

The 27-year-old, who has 45 caps, is the highest profile current male footballer to publicly come out as gay.

LONDON - Qatari investors are preparing to make a bid to buy Premier League club Manchester United in the coming days, Bloomberg reported on Monday, citing sources familiar with the deal.

The report added that the consortium will submit an initial bid for the club by the end of the week, and that officials from Qatar Investment Authority are helping with preparations for the bid.
