The Estadio Azteca will play host to the biggest match in Mexican football on Saturday afternoon as manager Matias Almeyda guides his Chivas team against Club America. Almeyda was appointed to replace the sacked Jose Manuel de la Torre as Guadalajara’s new chief on September 15th and will look to build off of last weekend’s 2-1 victory over Querataro. The Argentinean coach will look to captain Omar Bravo for scoring against America’s defense, which leads Liga MX with five clean sheets in nine games.

Well, the rivalry between the two best footballers in the world has taken a turn for the more intense. 

Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo had a heated confrontation on the pitch during a recent Classico. Harsh words were exchanged. Gestures were used in an angry manner. Not surprising from two of the most competitive people on the planet, but goodness guys there were children watching.

Chicharito Hernandez has opened his Bundesliga account. The Mexican striker scored his second goal for Bayer Leverkusen (he got his first in the Champions League last week) against Mainz Wednesday.

It was without a doubt a big week for soccer fans all around the world, with the UEFA Champions League kicking off its campaign. And while Messi, Ronaldo, and Co. are working hard to lift the trophy at the end of the campaign, another UEFA tournament kicked off simultaneously.

So Viktoria Plzeň's David Limbersky is a class A idiot, and he absolutely does not give a single f***. We’re about to find out how that last part is going for him real soon.
