Roberto Carlos Stuns Stamford Bridge With Pinpoint Backheel Pass During Soccer Aid

The eighth edition of Soccer Aid, which raises money for UNICEF UK, took place last night at Stamford Bridge, and the star-studded event featured the likes of Roberto Carlos, Didier Drogba, Eric Cantona, Usain Bolt, Niall Horan, John Terry, Michael Owen and Mo Farah.

The game finished 2-2 in regular time with F2 Freestylers baller Jeremy Lynch scoring two goals for the England XI while the World XI responded with goals from Bolt and Love Island’s Kem Cetinay. The World XI would eventually triumph on penalty kicks.

Kylian Mbappé Chills With LeBron, Goes To NBA Finals And Throws Out First Pitch At Dodgers Game

Fresh off scoring his 100th career goal during France’s 4-0 UEFA Euro 2020 qualifying victory over Andorra, 20-year-old French sensation Kylian Mbappé boarded a plane for the United States, where he’s since been spotted at Nike’s World Headquarters, chilling with LeBron James, at game six of the NBA Finals and throwing out the first pitch at a Los Angeles Dodgers game.

We’ll probably have to wait another couple decades to see Mbappé in MLS, but it’s clear that he enjoys his time spent stateside. Of course, it’s hard not to when the red carpet is rolled out wherever you go.

Golazo Makes Vivianne Miedema Netherlands’ All-Time Top Scorer At 22 Years Old

Vivianne Miedema is 22. She’s now the Netherlands’ all-time leading goal scorer.

Miedema netted a brace in a 3-1 victory over Cameroon in Group E action at the Women’s World Cup on Saturday. She now has 60 goals for the Leeuwinnen, passing Manon Melis for most all-time for the Dutch.

More importantly, for the short term at least, the Netherlands clinched qualification to the Round of 16 by moving to six points ahead of its Group E finale against Canada.

Beautiful Pinpoint Passing Helps England Finally Get Past Incredible Argentina GK Correa

For what seemed like an eternity, England could not find a way past Vanina Correa.

The Argentina No. 1 stopped everything the Three Lionesses threw at her, even becoming the first player to save a penalty kick taken by an England player at a Women’s World Cup.

It took, in the end, a perfect piece of play from England to finally get past Correa, resulting in a hard-fought 1-0 victory over Argentina in Group D action on Friday.

Vanina Correa made huge save after huge save against England, finishing with six stops and a career’s worth of highlights.

The Players With The Most Women’s World Cup Goals Of All Time

On June 7, the eighth edition of the FIFA Women’s World Cup kicked off in Paris, France. The USWNT entered the tournament as the defending champion and the world’s No. 1 ranked side, and the team can still rely on Carli Lloyd, who finished joint-top scorer in 2015 with six goals. However, when it comes to the most Women’s World Cup goals of all time, the 36-year-old remains just outside the top 10 with eight total goals.

France Survives Comical Own Goal Thanks To Controversial VAR Decision

That was a strange one. In the end, France delighted the 34,872 in attendance at the Allianz Riviera with a 2-1 victory over Norway to move to the top of Group A and all but guarantee passage to the Round of 16, but how they got there was a wild ride.

The first half wasn’t so wild. The atmosphere inside the home of OGC Nice was wonderful, but neither goalkeeper made a save of note in the opening 45 minutes. Thankfully, the home supporters only had to wait one minute to see the opening goal in the second half.

Atletico Confirms Griezmann Is Headed To Barca

Atletico Madrid CEO Gil Marin has confirmed they’ve known Griezmann is bound for Barcelona since March.

Griezmann landing spots were rumored for just about everywhere in Europe.

The 28-year-old is coming off a World Cup title but is yet to win a LaLiga or Champions League title.

Spain On A Collision Course With USWNT After Defeat To Germany

Spain is widely considered a rising power in women’s soccer, and la Roja had a tremendous opportunity to accentuate that sentiment with a victory over two-time world champion Germany on Wednesday. But they blew it, and their failure is compounded by the fact that they’re now possibly on a collision course with the USWNT in the Round of 16.

The majority of the first half was dominated by Spain, and two glorious opportunities fell to Nahikari García to open the scoring in the opening 14 minutes.

Mesmerizing Lorenzo Insigne Volley Just Goes To Show How Right De Rossi Was

It’s been 576 days since the Italian apocalypse at the San Siro in Milan. It was on that fateful evening that Sweden held Italy to a 0-0 draw in a playoff for the 2018 FIFA World Cup, sending the Scandinavian country through 1-0 on aggregate while the Azzurri missed out on their first World Cup in 60 years.

Has Kepa Replaced De Gea As Spain's Starting Keeper?

For the third game in a row, Manchester United’s David De Gea found himself out of the starting 11 for the Spanish national team in favor of Kepa Arrizibalaga. The Chelsea keeper has proven his worth, having allowed one goal over the three games he’s started, with the goal coming off a cheap deflection against the Faroe Islands.
