Hat-Trick Hero Timo Werner Puts On A Master Class

He’s been heavily linked with Liverpool — although Chelsea, Manchester United and Inter Milan are reportedly in the fight — but RB Leipzig’s Timo Werner might’ve added a little more to his $70 million valuation following a hat-trick in Sunday’s 5-0 rout of Mainz.

FC Augsburg’s Eduard Löwen Curls In Sensational 25-Yard Free Kick

Another European League Resumes Play After Coronavirus Hiatus

PRAGUE — The top Czech soccer league resumed on Saturday after a two-month break due to the new coronavirus pandemic, with Teplice beating Slovan Liberec 2-0 in a match that included pre-kickoff temperature checks and other protective measures.

The re-start made the Czech league one of the first in Europe to take to the pitch again, following the Bundesliga which resumed last weekend in neighboring Germany.

Canadian Phenom Alphonso Davies Pops Up To Provide Vital Bayern Spark

Maybe it’s youthful exuberance, maybe Thomas Müller is rubbing off on him, but Alphonso Davies’ second goal of the Bundesliga campaign was the product of nothing more than effort and being in the right place at the right time.

And the strike came at the perfect time for a Bayern Munich side that was reeling in the moments prior.

Davies scored in the 61st minute after Eintracht Frankfurt had quickly cut a three-goal lead to one, helping Bayern Munich pull away for a 5-2 victory on Saturday.

Even When He Fails Spectacularly, Erling Haaland Creates Magic

Everything Erling Haaland does is magic, even when he fucks up.

Haaland was unable to add to his tally of 41 goals in his 35th match but still helped create Borussia Dortmund’s first goal in a 2-0 victory over Wolfsburg on Saturday.

After scoring upon Bundesliga’s return last week, Haaland was fairly quiet on the road this time around. In fact, BVB in general failed to create the number of chances you come to expect from one of Europe’s most exciting teams.

La Liga has yet to officially confirm a date on which it will resume, although its president Javier Tebas had said previously he hoped the season could do so from June 12.

Italian Refs Hope Players Will Show More Respect When Serie A Returns, lol

ROME — The head of the Italian Referees Association (AIA) hopes match officials will be treated with greater respect if and when Serie A returns following the coronavirus stoppage.

"I hope this virus will teach us to change our attitudes and have a bit more respect," AIA head Marcello Nicchi told Radio Sportiva in an interview.

"Was the coronavirus needed to say that players should keep their distance from the referee when they protest? It's an ethical issue that I hope everyone will assimilate."

San Siro Edges Closer To Demolition After Heritage Authority Says It Has No Architectural Significance

MILAN — Italy's heritage authority raised no objections to tearing down Milan's 1920s-era San Siro arena, a document seen by Reuters showed, removing a major obstacle to the city's top-flight soccer clubs plans to replace it with a new stadium.

Serie A clubs AC Milan and Inter Milan, respectively owned by U.S. fund Elliott and Chinese electronic retailer Suning, last year filed a request to jointly build a new 60,000-seater stadium in the San Siro area.
