The UEFA Champions League group stage begins on Tuesday and many Americans will be googling “how to watch Champions League 2021.” There are three answers to that question: Paramount+, watch in Spanish or break the law and stream it illegally.

Ever since CBS acquired the broadcasting rights to the Champions League in 2020, the world’s largest annual tournament is almost entirely streamed for American fans. 

José Mourinho is known for many things. Fielding teams which produce energetic, flowing, attacking displays is not one of them.

For the first time in history, Americans will play in all three of UEFA’s European tournaments. This season is also the first time there have been three tournaments, but minor details. There are tons of Americans playing in Europe, but only 22 have made it to the group stages across the three competitions.

Here are the numbers for Americans playing in European tournaments.

• Champions League: 11 Americans
• Europa League: 9 Americans
• Europa Conference League: 2 Americans

First, let’s look at the 11 in the Champions League.

Leicester City will face Napoli, Poland's Legia Warsaw and Spartak Moscow in the Europa League this season after being drawn in Group C on Friday.

City's Premier League rival West Ham United, which is making its group-stage debut in the competition, was handed trips to Croatia, Belgium and Austria after being drawn against Dinamo Zagreb, Genk and Rapid Vienna in Group H.

PSV Eindhoven, runner-up in the Dutch top flight last season, was placed in a tough Group B, which also includes AS Monaco, Spain's Real Sociedad and Austrian side Sturm Graz.

The Europa Conference League released the draw for its third round of qualifying on Monday. If you can recognize more than 31 of the following 98 clubs, then you outsmarted me and can claim my job.

When UEFA announced that a third club tournament, the Europa Conference League, would be held for the 2021-22 season, I was skeptical. Who the hell would play in this tournament? What obscure Moldovan city is Tottenham going to have to travel to?
