Frida Maanum scores insane goal in upper-90 to help send Arsenal to Champions League semis

Arsenal defeated Bayern Munich 2-0 at the Emirates Stadium Wednesday to win 2-1 on aggregate in the Women’s Champions League quarterfinal.

The Gunners overcame a 1-0 first-leg deficit to reach the UWCL semifinals for the first time since 2013.

An out of this world goal from Norwegian midfielder Frida Maanum in the 19th minute sparked the comeback. 

Arsenal put together a quick succession of passes after regaining possession outside of Bayern’s box to set up Maanum. The 23-year-old took the shot first time and placed it into the top corner like an arrow.

Leeds United dealt huge blow as Tyler Adams will miss remainder of season with injury

Leeds United and USMNT defensive midfielder Tyler Adams will miss the rest of the 2022-23 season after undergoing surgery for a hamstring injury.

Adams missed Leeds’ final game before the March international window, a 4-2 victory vs. Wolves, with a hamstring issue. The problem is more severe than originally anticipated and the American will be out for an extended period.

The injury occurred during training with Leeds.

Marsch played for Princeton’s soccer team from 1992 to 1995 and was an All-American.

Qatar's Al Thani submits new $6 billion bid for Manchester United

Sheikh Jassim bin Hamad Al Thani has submitted a new bid to buy Manchester United which is believed to be worth around $6.12 billion, Sky Sports News reported on Saturday.

Sheikh Jassim, a son of Qatar’s former prime minister, launched the bid in February. A spokesperson representing Sheikh Jassim said at the time that the bid was completely debt free, via Sheikh Jassim's Nine Two Foundation.

Manchester United did not immediately respond to a Reuters request for comment.

Bayern Munich fire manager Julian Nagelsmann who had only lost three of 37 games this season

MUNICH — Bayern Munich parted ways with coach Julian Nagelsmann on Friday and appointed former Chelsea manager Thomas Tuchel as his successor, with the German champions in second place in the Bundesliga.

Nagelsmann, 35, had taken over in 2021 and led the Bavarians to their 10th straight German league crown but failed to win any other silverware last season.
