Just Two Months Into His Championship Tenure, Daryl Dike Is Poised To Set League Records

Americans have a long, but not necessarily impressive, history of playing soccer in Europe.

John Harkes was the first American to play in the English Premier League when he debuted for Sheffield Wednesday in 1991. Since then, many Americans have tested their mettle in England, yet very few have delivered truly impressive seasons.

Tim Howard was one of the better goalkeepers in the Premier League for a decade, Brad Friedel's Premier League run extended even longer, while Clint Dempsey and Brian McBride both had their share of impressive seasons.

England Drops Trent Alexander-Arnold, Recalls Jesse Lingard For World Cup Qualifiers

LONDON - England manager Gareth Southgate has dropped Liverpool full back Trent Alexander-Arnold from his squad while recalling on-loan West Ham midfielder Jesse Lingard for this month's World Cup qualifying matches against San Marino, Albania and Poland.

Alexander-Arnold has been a regular in the England squad since breaking into the side ahead of the 2018 World Cup but Southgate said his form had cost him his spot.

Pulisic Celebrates USMNT Call-Up With Coast-To-Coast Dime To Put Away Atlético

Last year, Atlético Madrid came to England and stunned reigning champion Liverpool. On Wednesday, the same team came to England and limped out of the competition, with American Christian Pulisic setting up the dagger in a 2-0 victory at Stamford Bridge. Thomas Tuchel’s side thoroughly stifled Diego Simeone’s men for a 3-0 aggregate victory in the Champions League Round of 16, and Pulisic provided the assist on the final nail in Atleti’s coffin.

The Unstoppable Daryl Dike Scores Two More Goals For Barnsley

Fresh off the announcement that he’d been included in Gregg Berhalter’s 26-man squad for a pair of USMNT friendlies at the end of the month, Daryl Dike went and scored a brace for Barnsley on Wednesday, bringing his Championship total to five goals in 10 games.

Sex Abuse Review Finds ‘Significant Institutional Failings’ In English FA

England's Football Association acted much too slowly to protect children against sexual abuse in the sport because of its own "significant institutional failings," a review into historic child abuse concluded.

The independent review, commissioned by English football's governing body in 2016, found there were at least 240 suspects and 692 survivors of sexual abuse as of August last year.

The review was launched after a victim broke taboo by speaking in public about how he was abused as a young footballer by his coach, encouraging many others to break their silence.

Digno Heredero De Borghi: El Delicioso Gol De Rabona De Lamela En El Arsenal vs. Tottenham

Mmm…mmm…mmm.

Lynden Gooch Scores Game-Winner At Wembley In EFL Trophy Final

Lionel Messi. Thomas Müller. Koke. Lynden Gooch. When you think of footballers that personify the passion and commitment of one-club men, the 25-year-old American winger doesn’t instantly spring to mind, but Gooch’s fifth year as a first-team regular with the Black Cats is elevating him to mythical status on Wearside.

Born in Santa Cruz, California, Gooch joined Sunderland’s youth system as a 10-year-old. He would travel their during school holidays to train, and then he made the switch permanent when emigrating to the north-east of England at the age of 16.
