Barcelona, Man United among clubs fined over financial fair play rule breaches

Barcelona and Manchester United have been fined by UEFA for breaches of Financial Fair Play (FFP) regulations, European soccer's governing body said on Friday.

Barcelona have been fined $561,000 for wrongly reporting "profits on disposal of intangible assets" in 2022.

United have been fined $267,000 for "minor break-even deficits".

Fourth-tier side Forest Green Rovers appointed Hannah Dingley as caretaker head coach on Tuesday following Duncan Ferguson's exit, making her the first woman to manage a men's professional team in England.

Forest Green, who were relegated from League One last season, said earlier on Tuesday that Ferguson had left his role after six months in charge.

Dingley made her debut in a friendly at non-league side Melksham Town on Wednesday. The game ended 1-1.

Barcelona have signed İlkay Gündoğan on a free transfer after his departure from treble winners Manchester City with the German midfielder signing a two-year contract, the LaLiga club said on Monday.

The 32-year-old has a contract until June 2025 with an option for a further year, while the Spanish champions also said they had included a buyout clause of $435.72 million.
